Prince Harry putting a hand on Meghan Markle’s bottom during a red carpet appearance went viral on social media in a post that said she “does not flinch.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the Project Healthy Minds gala on October 9 at Spring Studios, in New York, to receive a Humanitarians of the Year award.

And Prince Harry appeared very much enamored with his wife as a video clip from the red carpet showed he put a hand on her derriere.

    Why It Matters

The couple have in the past been subject to divorce rumors during periods out of the public eye, but the gossip seemed a lifetime away as they walked the red carpet together.

A clip of the moment was viewed 8,900,000 times and liked 13,000 times after being posted on X with the message: “She does not flinch, but you people’s Prince, Prince Harry, knew precisely what he was doing.!! We are in public, sir!!”

    What to Know

In the clip, the couple are seen posing for photos alongside Phil Schermer, chief executive of Project Healthy Minds, when Harry puts his arm around Meghan but below the small of her back.

The duchess then smiled warmly at Harry before weaving her own arm underneath his, moving his hand up her back.

While the couple’s warm interaction gave fans a light-hearted moment on social media, there was also a profoundly serious message behind their appearance relating to social media and its impact on young people.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s Humanitarian Award

During his acceptance speech, Prince Harry turned attention to the work of the Seattle-based Social Media Victims Law Center in bringing lawsuits against digital technology companies.

In just one of its cases, the company is bringing litigation against an online chatbot, accusing the software of causing the suicide of a 14-year-old boy in February.

“Tonight,” Harry said, “we are all here together to focus on what remains one of the most pressing issues of our time.

“Let me share a number with you: 4,000. That’s how many families the Social Media Victims Law Center is currently representing—families whose children have been harmed or lost forever to social media.

“Four thousand cases at just one firm. And that number represents only those parents who have been able to link their child’s circumstance to social media use.

“Parents who have learned legal action is possible, who have the capacity to pursue it while grieving, and parents who’ve found their way to help in the fight back against some of the wealthiest, most powerful corporations in the world.

“And even after this there may be no road to closure for grieving parents because these companies refuse to disclose their child’s information and activity on their platforms. If these were unintended consequences 10 years ago, what are they now?”

Meghan and Harry have sought to support parents of children impacted by social media since the inception of their Archewell Foundation Parents’ Network

And Meghan said: “Like so many parents, we think constantly about how to embrace technology’s benefits while safeguarding against its dangers. That hopeful intention of separation is rapidly becoming impossible.”

    What People Are Saying

One fan replied, “his cheeky grin is everything,” while another said: “I grin every time this appears on my timeline because they’re so adorable together and my man is flirting like mad.” A third wrote: “He knew what he was doing, see his face😂🤣😂🤣.”
