Tina Fey and Amy Poehler reunite on ‘SNL’ — Pam Bondi reacts
Hold my gun. That’s right. It’s me, Christine M. I spell my name with an I cuz that’s how I thought it was spelled. The SNL dream team of Tina Fay and Amy Polar reunited on October 11th’s show. Tina played Secretary of Homeland Security Christy Gnome, while Amy, who was also this week’s host, played US Attorney General Pam Bondi. The cold open sketch spoofed last week’s Senate Judiciary Committee oversight hearing. And while we’re at it, Amy Clolobachar, your ass out here sounding like a Pokemon. I choose you, Clolobachar. Pam Bondi seemingly approved of the parody. The AG tweeted this playful response to the impression. Secretary Gnome, should we recreate this picture in Chicago? Loving Amy Polar. Longtime pals Tina and Amy also joined forces at the weekend update desk where they previously co-anchored from 2004 to 2006. my first wife and my second wife. Everybody, thank you for helping me. Political impressions on Saturday Night Live launched both Tina and Amy’s careers into the stratosphere. Tina had left the show in 2006 to create and star in NBC’s 30 Rock before making her epic return on September 13th, 2008. You know, Hillary and I don’t agree on everything anything. In the now legendary sketch, Amy played Hillary Clinton following her first failed presidential bid. And Tina played John McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin. Tina’s resemblance to the Alaskan governor was uncanny, and she went on to win an Emmy for it for outstanding guest actress in a comedy series. Then in 2015, Tina and Amy teamed up again, co-hosting SNL, and both took home Emmys for the stint. The dynamic duo also hosted the Golden Globes an impressive four times, so naturally fans were over the moon to see these comedy stars reunite. Tina and Amy together never disappoint. However, the majority of viewers were dumbruck by Tina Fay’s transformation into Christy Gnome. Tina Fay’s gnome face had better earned the makeup artist an Emmy. Seamless. It took me entirely too long to figure out that was Tina Fay. Nailed it, ladies. Hilarious.
