Alec Baldwin and his brother Stephen have been involved in a horror car crash in East Hampton, New York.
The actor and his brother were involved in an incident while driving on October 13th, where the white Range Rover they were travelling in veered off course and crashed into a tree, seemingly writing off the exterior of the car.
Despite the scene seeming serious, the two brothers thankfully emerged unharmed from the incident, with a representative for Stephen Baldwin later confirming to TMZ: “Stephen is doing fine and is grateful no one was injured. He appreciates the concern and he can confirm that he and Alec are both safe and well.”
To this end, Alec Baldwin also later took to Instagram to share an update on the situation, where he said in a video: “I crushed my wife’s car and I feel bad about that — but it’s all fine. I’m fine, my brother’s fine,” before referencing his wife by adding, “Hilaria, I love you more than anything and I’m very proud of you.”
Baldwin explained that he and his brother were driving in the area as they were attending the Hamptons Film Festival, when the actor, who was behind the wheel of the car, swerved to avoid crashing into an oncoming bin lorry, which had reportedly cut him up.
However, a representative for the bin lorry company noted to TMZ that their driver was not at fault for the incident.
The crash comes as the latest in a difficult line of events for Baldwin, following the tragic incident on his film set for Rust in 2021, in which he was accused of killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins when he fired a prop gun that was unknowingly loaded.
However, the actor was later acquitted of the charge of manslaughter and cleared of any wrongdoing in the incident.
