Vanessa Hudgens Opens Up About Zac Efron Romance
Vanessa Hudgens has discussed the beginning of her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Zack Efron in unusual remarks on his Get Your Head in the Game podcast. The 36-year-old actress who is expecting her second child with husband Cole Tucker talked candidly about the early days of High School Musical with former co-star Bart Johnson. She spoke on the audition process where she connected with her 37-year-old potential partner, Zach. The two later began dating in real life and portrayed Troy and Gabriella on screen. I was paired with this boy and I was like, “Oh my god, he’s so cute and so like the chemistry was so real,” Vanessa said, laughing as she recalled her audition. We were paired with a variety of people and I believe I was paired with Zach immediately,” she stated. “And a few months prior to that, Ashley and I had actually done a commercial together,” she continued. The actress also recalled, “We mixed and matched, swapped, and yeah, that was it. There was another girl there for Gabriella and another guy there for Troy.” Regarding her chemistry with Zach, the soon-to-be mother of two, said, “It really does help, especially when you’re young and it’s all sweet and innocent. I was so naive, but I was also playing so innocent, so it was like the hat on the hat. I’m really pure,” she added. Looking back, it’s so funny. The rebellious young part of myself said, “No, this isn’t me. That’s exactly who I was.” She also talked about her experience joining the Disney film after having sung in the past. I was really excited because I come from a musical theater background and that’s still where my heart is. After her breakup with Zach, which lasted from 2005 to 2010, Vanessa dated Austin Butler from 2011 until 2020. The actress and her husband Cole Tucker eventually fell in love. 11 months after splitting from the Elvis star, she met her now husband in November 2020. Hudgen stated, “I feel my last breakup has really catapulted me to a very, very special place.” Obviously, in an interview with the She Pivots podcast in March 2024 regarding Austin, she remarked, “You pushed me to the right person.” And she expressed her gratitude for their breakup. Vanessa and Cole got married in late 2023, and they are expecting their second child together. In July 2024, they welcomed their first child, whose name and appearance have not yet been made public.
