The world has been mourning the recent passing of legendary actress Diane Keaton on October 11.
In addition to being such a rare talent, the actress and director was also a lover of animals, especially her sweetGolden Retriever, Reggie.
In fact, her last post on Instagram ever was a tribute to pets everywhere for National Pet Day on April 11, and it featured her with sweet Reggie.
And though details of her death have been minimal, one interesting bit of information has come out.
Reportedly, Keaton is leaving a significant portion of her $100 million estate to her dog, Reggie.
AOL reports that the actress has made sure her dog will receive $5 million.

So if this is really true, it sounds like Keaton’s two children, Dexter, 27, and Duke, 22, will be sharing the estate with their canine sister.
Keaton, who died at 79 years old, made her fortune as an actress starring in such hits as The Godfather films, Annie Hall, Baby Boom, Manhattan Murder Mystery, Reds, the Father of the Bride films, The First Wives Club, and Something’s Gotta Give.
Later in her career, she starred in The Book Club films, Poms, and Summer Camp.
She was also an accomplished director. Films she directed include Hanging Up (which she also starred in), Unsung Heroes, Wildflower, and a number of music videos.
Keaton also had a furniture line with Hudson & Grace, an eyewear line, and even recorded a Christmas song.
Diane Keaton Loved Dogs
A friend told Rob Shuter’s Substack that “Reggie was her world. Diane used to joke that her great loves were her children, Al Pacino, architecture—and that dog.”
Not a bad list!
Reggie was heavily featured on her Instagram over the years.
She told AARP, “A friend of mine gave her to me. I didn’t even ask for her. He came to me and said, ‘I think you need this dog.’ I was like, ‘Okay, I guess?’ Of course, now I just love her. Dogs are irresistible. They’re just idiots. Reggie is a big jerk, and she’s hilarious.”
She clearly loved this dog very much and wants to make sure she has a great life, even if she is not there.
