Prince William’s icy snub to Prince Andrew sparks fresh royal family drama

A tense moment between Prince William, the Prince of Wales, and his uncle Prince Andrew, Duke of York, during the funeral of Katharine Windsor, Duchess of Kent, is drawing attention as Andrew’s recent relinquishment of his royal titles ignites further drama.

According to People, the incident occurred at the funeral held Sept. 16, 2025 at Westminster Cathedral, where Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson made a rare appearance alongside senior members of the royal family.

As the attendees gathered on the steps after the service, Andrew was seen attempting to engage William in conversation.

While Andrew smiled and appeared animated, William maintained a stony expression and offered only a slight nod.

As per the outlet, the brief interaction has resurfaced at a sensitive moment, following Andrew’s announcement on Oct. 17 that he would give up use of his royal titles and honours — a decision reportedly made with consultation from William and ‎King Charles III.

However, The Sunday Times reports that William is not satisfied with the outcome.

Moreover, a palace insider told the publication that Charles and William are aligned in their view of Andrew’s future role, but a separate report claims William may seek to exclude Andrew and Ferguson from key royal events once he becomes king.
