LONDON —  Kate Middleton wore a maroon Emilia Wickstead dress paired with a color-coordinated Jane Taylor hat and sparkling feather brooch to welcome the Trumps to Windsor Castle.

Middleton accessorized her dress, which featured double-breasted detailing, with a Chanel bag and black pumps. The look recalled her all-black outfit she wore a day prior to the Duchess of Kent‘s funeral.

The Princess of Wales, and her husband William, Prince of Wales, greeted the president and first lady as they landed in Marine One. They then walked to Victoria House, where the president and First Lady Melania Trump met King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

The group proceeded to take part in a carriage procession from the grounds of the Windsor estate to the castle, accompanied by the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment.

Following the ceremonial welcome, the group lunched at the castle and visited St. George’s Chapel. There, the Trumps laid a wreath on Queen Elizabeth II’s tomb, with whom Trump had a warm relationship.

This evening, there will be a state banquet at the castle, with both Trump and the king set to give speeches.

This meeting marks the second day of President’s Donald Trump’s high-stakes, two-day state visit. It’s Trump’s second state visit, unprecedented for U.S. presidents serving two terms in office, and the British government has hauled out King Charles III and top members of the royal family for it.

U.K. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer helped the U.K. dodge the worst of the president’s tariffs by personally delivering the king’s invitation to Trump during a visit to Washington, D.C. in February.
