Acclaimed ‘60s and ‘70s French entertainer Brigitte Bardot is speaking out after a recent hospitalization sparked speculation about her death.

The beloved actress, model and signer was taken to the hospital recently amid a battle with an unspecified sickness.

Bardot, 91, underwent an undisclosed surgery after being rushed from her home in Saint Tropez to a hospital in Toulon. Her condition had been “worrying,” per reports from French media, causing rumors about her death to spiral.

The French star shut down rumors that she had died in an X (formerly Twitter) post Wednesday.

“I don’t know who is the idiot who started this ‘fake news’ about my disappearance but know that I am doing well and I have no plan on taking my bow. A word to the wise,” Bardot wrote in her post, which was written in French.

The recent hospitalization was Bardot’s second in the past few years. She was also hospitalized for respiratory issues in 2023.

Bardot attained great fame in the ‘50s and ‘60s for starring in movies like “…And God Created Woman” (1956), “The Truth” (1960), “Love on a Pillow” (1962) and “Contempt” (1963).

She stepped away from acting in 1973 before becoming an animal rights activist.
