Isabella Strahan Details Hair Growth Journey After Cancer Treatment | E! News
Isabella Strahan shares an update on her hair journey postcancer treatment. Over two years after being diagnosed with medulla blasto, a type of brain cancer, and then announcing she was cancer-free last July, the 21-year-old daughter of Michael Strahan gets candid about her reaction to hair growth post chemotherapy, revealing in an October 30th interview with People magazine that when it first started growing back, it was like pinned straight and black. I was like, “Oh my gosh, chemo changed my texture and color, but now it feels curlier and it’s getting back to looking lighter.” The model further details how her relationship with beauty had to change, adding, “Precancer diagnosis, I would always kind of equate my beauty with my hair because I would get so many compliments.” She continues, “People would always comment on the color, the length, the texture. So when I didn’t have it, I was like, “Oh no, I’m never going to be pretty again.” While the USC student admits she quote really took advantage of her hair, she’s on track to redefine what beauty means to her and learn more about her locks, explaining, “It’s just a journey and a process kind of learning my hair. But as it’s growing back and I’m feeling more like myself, I learned that my beauty is not about my hair. It’s really about just feeling confident. It’s how you feel yourself and where you’re at.
