As “Beverly Hills, 90210” celebrates its 35th anniversary, Brian Austin Green is taking a thoughtful look back at his time on the iconic teen drama — from his early relationships on set to the enduring connection between his character, David Silver, and Tori Spelling’s Donna Martin.

In an interview with our entertainment reporter Courtney Tezeno, Green reflected on how he would have handled his younger years differently, particularly the period when he dated his ex-girlfriend Tiffani Thiessen, who joined the series as Valerie Malone in 1994.

“If I could go back in time and do it, I wouldn’t change any of it, because all of the experiences I genuinely feel in my life have brought me to the place I am today,” Green said. “But if I was guiding my young self through that, I think I would have told myself just to relax a little bit…When you’re younger, everything is so much heavier around you. You carry these burdens that you don’t need to be carrying.”

Now 52, the actor said age and perspective have taught him to live more consciously. “Life is not nearly as hard as I ever thought it was,” he said. “At 50, it’s a really cool marker…I can’t use that stuff as an excuse anymore for bad behavior. I need to be accountable and make the choice to be the person I want to be.”

When it comes to 90210’s most beloved couple, David and Donna, Green said their on-screen connection resonated because it was “genuine” and “timeless.”

“They split, they were with different people, they had different experiences, but their love for each other always brought them back together,” he explained. “That’s what you try and find in life, a partner that loves you through all of it.”

Green confirmed he and Spelling “talk all the time” and often reunite at fan conventions. This year also marks another milestone: the 25th anniversary of David and Donna’s televised wedding. “We’re the Silvers — it’s the silver anniversary,” Green joked. “It’s insane that we’re still doing this…and I don’t take that impact lightly.”

On Oct. 20, all 10 seasons and a complete series bundle of “Beverly Hills, 90210” debuted on digital in 4K UHD.
