Meghan Markle is dusting off her acting career after an eight-year absence, but how does Prince Harry feel about his wife’s big move? Well, the answer might surprise you.
There have been reports that the Duke of Sussex is feeling a little frustrated by Meghan’s pivot to social media while promoting her brand, As Ever. According to Page Six, Harry doesn’t mind if she’s on Instagram, but he is concerned about their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, even if fans only see them from behind.

“He’s very aware of her parading him around,” an insider claimed. “He doesn’t love the social media displays.” There’s some reported concern that her shift in PR strategy is “not a great look and Fergie-esque” — but there appears to be a different side to the story.

The Sun has a more supportive view from Harry now that it’s been revealed that the Duchess of Sussex will make a cameo in the upcoming film, Close Personal Friends, starring Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding.
“This is a massive moment for Meghan and signifies a return to doing what she truly loves,” studio insider told the outlet about the Amazon MGM Studios production. “She has been swamped with offers but this one felt right.” They described the opportunity as a way for Meghan to “gently [put] her toe back in the water and [see] how she enjoys being back on set.”
It’s back to her old Hollywood life, and Harry is all for it. “Prince Harry is, of course, really supportive and quite simply wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy,” the source added.
That support aligns with the way their relationship has always been presented. The royal duo seems to have each other’s backs, whether they are diving into projects together or as an individual pursuit. And Meghan’s acting career was also a topic of discussion with Queen Elizabeth II ahead of her joining the royal family.
According to the 2023 book, Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait by Gyles Brandreth, the queen was reportedly OK with Meghan’s work in Hollywood.
“She did everything she could to make her future granddaughter-in-law feel welcome. She was concerned for her future happiness. At their first meeting, the Queen said to Meghan: ‘You can carry on being an actress if you like – that’s your profession, after all,’” Brandreth wrote.
The Los Angeles Times hinted in September that a way back to her acting career was possible, and it sounds like she took their advice. It might be a small role, but it’s a smart way to figure out if Hollywood is ready for her return. According to The Sun source, they are.
“Everyone involved is super-excited, and have been sworn to secrecy about her involvement,” they shared.
With Prince Harry onboard, Meghan might be looking for another Suits-type of project.
