Nicole Richie Seemingly Reacts to Hilary Duff’s New Song Amid Joel Madden Rumors
Nicole Richie is simply drowning out the noise. Amid speculation that Hillary Duff’s new song, Mature, is about Nicole’s husband, Joel Madden, who dated Hillary from 2004 to 2006. The Simple Life alum shares a supportive message for the song on Instagram. In a photo shared to her Instagram story November 11th, Nicole and Hillary can be seen laying in the grass laughing with the caption, “Mature is not the word I would use to describe us, but regardless, this song is a bob.” But prior to Nicole’s sweet reaction, rumors circulated that mature was partly inspired by Hillary’s past romance with Joel with whom she has a 9-year age gap. With her singing in the chorus, she looks like she could be your daughter like me before I got smarter when I was flattered to hear you say, “You’re so mature for your age.” And while the singer hasn’t responded directly to the speculation, she previously shared that the song isn’t really about a romantic relationship, explaining in a press release, “Mature is a little conversation that my present self is having with my younger self.
