Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have quietly made a secret donation of £40k ($50,000) this week to the Ugandan children’s dance troupe that is part of their upcoming Netflix project. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, through their Archewell Foundation, donated the money to Masaka Kids Africana via GoFundMe.

The money will be used to help the organisation feed, care and educate the orphaned and vulnerable children in its care. The donation by Harry and Meghan comes just a month before the Netflix documentary “Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within” is set to air.

The documentary, which Archewell Productions is the producer of, follows the Masaka Kids dance group who went viral online by using dance to bring them joy during hardship.

The documentary will air on December 9, with the directors listed as Moses Bwayo and David Vieira Lopez on the trailer which was released this week.

As reported by people, the documentary is a Campfire Studios Production in association with Wontanara Productions and Archewell Productions.

Netflix captioned the trailer, which was released this week: “Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within premieres December 9. They danced their way into the world’s hearts, now go behind their viral videos to the heart of Uganda where Masaka Kids Africana has become a beacon of hope, helping children transform their hardship into joy.”

Meghan and Harry are believed to have first learnt about the Masake Kids during lockdown when they came across the viral videos online.
