The Prince and Princess of Wales will attend the Royal Variety Performance on Wednesday night, Kensington Palace has announced. The annual event is being hosted at the Royal Albert Hall in Kensington, London.

This year’s show will be hosted by Jason Manford and includes performances from artists like Jessie J, Harry Moulding and a 40th-anniversary celebration of Les Misérables. It marks the first time Catherine and William have attended the show in two years. In 2023 they watched the show alongside The Crown Princess and Prince of Sweden.

Last year, the King, Patron of the Royal Variety Charity, watched the star-studded show on his own, as his wife the Queen pulled out at the last minute due to illness.

Other highlights of this year’s show, which will be shown on ITV next month, include an exclusive performance from Paddington The Musical, a glitzy performance from Strictly Star Johannes Radebe and will see British band Madness take to the stage.

The Royal Variety Performance takes place every year, either in London or in a theatre around the UK and raises money for the Royal Variety Charity. The charity assists those who’ve worked professionally in the entertainment industry and in 2024 the Charity set up a dedicated team to assist those in entertainment who are in need of help and support because of mental health issues.

The performance has been staged since 1912 and draws in a global TV audience of just over 152 million.
