Kate Middleton returned to her royal power suiting ways in a gray coordinated look by Roland Mouret for the Future Workforce Summit in London on Tuesday.

The Princess of Wales styled the single-breasted stretch-cady blazer with the coordinated slim-fit trousers in the same shade of gray. The blazer of the look toyed with angles and harsh lines, from the slanted hip pockets to the sinuous and sharp lapels.

Along with the suited pieces, Middleton wore a silk satin ruffle blouse with a statement lavallière by London-based brand Knatchbull. She completed the look with pointed-toe Russel and Bromley heels and carried a tote bag from Smythson.

Among Kate Middleton’s royal power suiting moments, Roland Mouret is a designer featured throughout the British royal family member’s wardrobe. She’s also worn power suits by Burberry and, more recently, Bella Freud.

The Princess of Wales is not the only royal to embrace the power suit. Queen Letizia of Spain and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands are among the royal women who favor power suits for daytime occasions. Queen Letizia has worn styles by Mango and Hugo Boss, while Queen Maxima has donned Max Mara, among other designers.

While royal power suits can be traced back to the late Princess Diana’s indisputable impact on fashion and the ways in which royal women harness style as a statement, women’s tailoring is certainly on the rise.

“This renewed focus on women’s tailoring aligns with broader cultural shifts toward sustainability, individuality and the rejection of fast fashion. As more women ascend to leadership roles and seek professional attire that embodies confidence and style, the demand for high-quality, tailor-made clothing has grown,” Hannah Bond, the womenswear representative for Norton & Sons, a 203-year-old bespoke tailor, previously told WWD.
