Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has reportedly made an unexpected demand of his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, during their remaining time at Royal Lodge in Windsor. The disgraced former duke has agreed to move out of his 30 room residence, that he has lived in for over two decades, after he was officially stripped of his prince title by King Charles, due to his ongoing links to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew’s moving process is thought to be taking place sometime in the new year. Despite their continued cohabitation at Royal Lodge, the move appears to be creating a significant strain between him and his ex-wife, Sarah. Insiders say Andrew has made one thing clear to the former duchess.
A source told Woman’s Day magazine that Fergie is “so angry with Andrew that he’s demanded she be kept away from him, which is upsetting her even more”.
The source added that the former Duchess has been feeling very “lonely” in Windsor. They explained: “She’s been isolating herself within the Lodge, begging staffers to stay longer because she’s so lonely.”
The comments suggest that tensions inside the royal residence have escalated and that Sarah, who has remained beside Andrew’s side despite their divorce in 1996, is struggling with the change.
This follows earlier reports claiming the former couple now lead largely separate lives under the same roof, barely doing anything together and only seeing each other for the occasional meal as they prepare to leave the property behind.

A source has previously shed light on the strained atmosphere at Royal Lodge, the Express reports.
Speaking to The Sun, they said: “Andrew and Sarah are leading separate lives – at different ends and on different wings. But they come together quite often for lunch and dinner, and this is where they talk about their futures.
“They have been heard having some pretty intense conversations about what is going on.”
They continued: “Sarah, in particular, is panicking about what comes next and she is not in a good place.
“She fears being caught in the crosshairs and is worried about herself and her and Andrew’s daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie.”

Andrew is due to relocate sometime in the new year to a private property on the King’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, as he begins his internal exile.
While Sarah is said to be moving overseas to Portugal, with reports suggesting she will be making the move in January. The Daily Mail reported that Sarah will be moving into Princess Eugenie’s £3.6 million mansion in Portugal, located on the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club.
Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are said to have prepared a “grand suite” in their villa for the former duchess’s arrival.
