Meghan Markle has opened up to fans with an unusually candid look at her marriage. In a newly released interview, the Duchess of Sussex reflects on everything from raising her children and day-to-day routines to the ‘mistakes’ she believes she’s made since stepping away from royal duties in 2018.
Since she and Prince Harry officially quit the Royal Family in 2020 and relocated to the United States, their lifestyle has shifted dramatically. The couple left behind the grave-and-favour Frogmore House in Windsor’s Great Park for a £12 million mansion in Montecito, California, complete with nine bedrooms.
The couple have since welcomed their daughter Lilibet into the world, named after the late Queen Elizabeth. Meanwhile, Meghan has tried her hand at podcasting, documentary making, affiliate sales and writing books before revealing her new role as a lifestyle guru. Her As Ever products have sold out within minutes, and a Christmas edition of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan is set to debut soon.

However, there have abeen challenges too. Their Netflix partnership has reportedly been scaled back and they were cut loose by Spotify amid criticism that branded them ‘grifters’. Although Meghan’s podcast gained a loyal fanbase, it was also widely mocked with critics accusing her of lacking authenticity.
On top of that, their ongoing rift with the Royal Family continues to deepen, due to their tell-all books, interviews and a Netflix documentary in which the couple share their ‘truth’ about the royals, the Mirror reports.
Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar about her journey as a ‘founder’, Meghan opened up about a lot of surprising topics. Here are the biggest bombshells from the chat…
‘Mistakes’
When asked how she copes with making errors while living in the public eye, Meghan offered a playful reply, stating: “You learn not to do it again.”
“If it all goes swimmingly, you don’t learn from it. If you don’t learn anything, you’re not going to grow,” she continued.
“I’m a mom with kids at that age where they are constantly learning something new. I watch them face things that feel completely insurmountable every day. But you can remember and say, ‘I know it seems really hard right now, but trust me, that’s going to come so easily soon.’ I can give myself the same grace as a founder. There’s no such thing as perfect. I, too, get to make mistakes.”
‘Childlike’ Harry is ‘doting’ husband

Meghan spoke proudly about her husband, Prince Harry, sharing how his ‘childlike’ view of the world has changed every aspect of herself.
“He loves me so boldly, fully, and he also has a different perspective because he sees media that I wouldn’t,” she stated. “No one in the world loves me more than him, so I know he’s always going to make sure that he has my back… you have someone who just has this childlike wonder and playfulness. I was so drawn to that, and he brought that out in me. That’s translated into every part of our life.”
Focus on ‘fun’
During the interview, Meghan explained that she is trying to put fun and playfulness at the centre of her life, which she said she got from Harry’s personality.
“If you overwork the dough, it’s not going to rise. And sometimes I think the stress that people put on moments … they are so consumed in them that you lose the fun of why you are doing something,” she adds.
She pointed out: “There’s also not a lot of fun in trying to be perfect. So why try to do that if you want to have fun?”
Meghan’s a ‘parenting expert’

In a particularly open moment, Meghan acknowledged that her parenting style is “very different” from her own mother, Doria Ragland. Although she remains extremely close to her mum, she explained that she has forged her own path for raising Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet – turning to books and apps to find her own parenting plan.
The piece noted that this “diligence” has “has made her an authority within her friend circle,” when it comes to all things parenting. Serena Williams – one of Meghan’s closest friends – even told the magazine that she learns a lot from the Duchess about being a mother.

In September, Meghan made headlines when she showed up at the Balenciaga fashion show to support their designer Pierpaolo Piccioli in his debut offering at the fashion house.
It was later claimed that the Duchess invited herself, with Meghan clarifying that she actually offered to attend as a favour.
“I was excited for him,” she said. “I reached out and I said, ‘Happy to come and support you.’ We kept it a secret, and it was really fun.”
