Taylor Swift’s brother, Austin, looking for love on celeb dating app Raya: sources
For the rich and famous and well-connected, there’s a dating app out there called Rya, and it has a new user. Here with more is Mara Seagler, our senior reporter. Who’s on Rya that we should be talking about? So, this might be people’s chance to be sister sister-in-laws with Taylor Swift. Her brother Austin has been spotted on the dating app. Wow. And we’re sure it’s not a catfish. It’s not a dupe. So, the way that Rya works is you sign up through your Instagram. So they would somehow have to like I mean he is on Instagram. He’s verified. The pictures are we’re pretty certain it’s him. That’s exciting. So why is he why don’t we see him more in the public eye, you know, in this famous family. Like this is sort of a you know we don’t see him too often with Taylor Swift. What’s his story? You know what? They’re very close. He’s been to a bunch of awards ceremonies with her. He’s been to see Travis Kelce play. So I mean he’s definitely around. I think he’s just like people don’t notice him because he’s standing next to Taylor Swift. To be the brother of Taylor Swift must be so weird. Yes. And it’s definitely an opportunity for Swifties to be creepy and reach out to him. Absolutely. So, uh he he’s cute. He’s 33. His likes on the site are steak, racket sports, sitting and laying, which I don’t know if you can put that in or if it’s an option. And then emo music. Oh, wow. Okay. And some of Taylor’s music is definitely emo, i.e. the reputation era. Someone had told me uh the Speak Now album. I’m not that like that seems like a deep cut to me. I’m not that a little angsty, a little pop punky. It’s definitely part of it. Okay. And of course liking Stake and Sitting. I mean, it sounds like a perfect first date to me. Yeah. I mean, people are like, you know, everyone in the office has been very excited. They’re like, I love those things. He’s my soulmate. And if you get in now, you might get invited to the wedding in Rhode Island next summer. Exactly. So now he did date a model named Sydney Nes from 20 uh 22. They were last seen watching uh Travis Kelce win the Super Bowl in 20 24 that was. Yeah. Or 23 maybe. It wasn’t last year. Yeah. But so um she also was spotted at one of Taylor Swift’s Fourth of July parties. So I mean the family is definitely So Austin works with he’s part of like the family empire. He helped Taylor regain her masters. He worked on one of her music videos. is he’s very involved with her career. He’s also an actor. Very cool. And let’s talk about Rya a little bit. You know, this is an exclusive dating app, but we’ve had great stories about famous matches that maybe didn’t end up going so well in the end, but we had Lily Allen and David Harour met on Rya. Ben Affleck back before Jennifer Lopez 2.0, Bennifer 2.0, he was spotted on Rya and there was this amazing moment where someone thought he was a cat, right? I think he facetimed them or he made some sort of video. He sent a video of his face and said, “Why did you block me?” It’s me, Ben Affleck. Naveen, why did you unmatch me? It’s me. There’s been so many. Lizo was on it. I’m trying to remember who else. I mean, it’s honestly like an endless list. Um, I had written a story. I right when Rya first came out, um, I wrote a story. I want to say it was Ryan Lochi, the swimmer. He was very hot then in pre-marriage. I can’t remember if it was him. So, if it wasn’t, sorry, Ryan Locky. Um, but they banned they banned me forever. I’ve never been able to get on there. But, um, you know, if you’re if you want to meet a celebrity, apparently that’s the spot. And I guess it’s like a little bit easier, you were saying, to get on now. Yeah, it might be they might be loosening some of their rules. I mean, Amy Schumer met her husband back on Rya. Nick Croll met his wife back on Rya. You know, it’s definitely like a place for, you know, maybe not the A-listers of the world, but it’s also gotten a lot of criticism. You know, Charliss Theren said it’s full of just tech bros and everyone’s a CEO on there. And I think um El Fanning said the same. No, Dakota Fanning said the same thing that it’s just full of a lot of like business types. So, you’re getting two different worlds, I think, on there. You’ve got these celebrities, you know, rich and famous, but you also have the um the normies. The normies with with big big boy jobs. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, what friends have told me is like there’s not a lot of meeting up, but the thing is if you’re matching with Charize Theron, I think you’re going to meet up with her. Yeah. You think? And then, you know, recently Joe Jonas talked about being single and, you know, he’s a single dad now um since uh divorcing or breaking up with Sophie Turner and he said he uses Instagram. The DMs are open for jokers sliding into the DM where he’s open to checking his DMs. See, that would I would not think that was real. I would rather do it on like a thing where I’m like, at least these people are verified. I’d be like, “Somebody has hacked Joe Jonas.” And what does he even say? Does he even have to say something clever or he’s just like, “Sup, Joe, bro?” Absolutely. Well, I can’t wait to hear how it works out for Taylor’s brother.
