Spencer Lofranco, a budding young actor best known for roles in “Unbroken” and “Gotti,” has died at the age of 33.
Lofranco’s brother, Santino, shared the news of his death on Instagram Thursday, Nov. 20. He said that his sibling died on Tuesday, Nov. 18, PEOPLE reported.
“To the legend @roccowinning. My brother. You lived a life only some could dream of,” Santino wrote in a post, per the outlet. “You changed people[s’] lives, and now you are with God. I will always love you and miss you Bear. RIP. October 18, 1992 — November 18, 2025.”
Lofranco’s death is being investigated in British Columbia, Canada, TMZ reported. The B.C. Coroners Service told CBC News the actor’s cause of death is currently unknown, and that an investigation is underway.
A Toronto native, Lofranco made his acting debut in “At Middleton,” a romantic comedy that was produced in 2013. The following year, he landed the lead as James Burns in the film, “Jamesy Boy.” Lofranco also had roles in “Dixieland,” “Home,” “King Cobra.” He most notably appeared in “Unbroken,” which was directed by Angelina Jolie, in 2014 and starred opposite John Travolta in the 2018 film “Gotti.”
The young actor also faced trouble off the big screen back in 2013. He was sentenced to 50 days community service, two-year’s probation and ordered to pay $161,000 in restitution for his involvement in a hit-and-run that left a cyclist with a broken hip, Entertainment Weekly reported.
