Fair Lawn NJ actor latest victim on ‘Only Murders in the Building’
Fair Lawn resident Teddy Coluca, who plays Lester the Doorman in “Only Murders in the Building,” has become the center of attention this season.
Each month, we highlight local celebrities making headlines in Bergen and beyond. In this installment, we feature Harlan Coben’s collaboration with Reese Witherspoon, Cory Booker popping the question and more.
Harlan Coben and Reese Witherspoon
Best-selling author Harlan Coben [featured in the June 2015 issue of (201)] and Academy Award-winning actor Reese Witherspoon released Gone Before Goodbye, a suspense novel about a woman trapped in a deadly conspiracy. When you’re done reading, head over to Amazon Prime Video and binge Lazarus, a horror-thriller miniseries created by Coben and Danny Brocklehurst and starring award-winning actor Bill Nighy.
Eric Decker
Former New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker and his wife, country singer Jessie James Decker, can be seen on the latest season of Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. The third season, which premiered in September, features 16 celebrity recruits trying to endure someof the harshest, most grueling challenges from the playbook of the actual Special Forces selection process. Other contestants include The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Teresa Giudice and her daughter Gia Giudice, Olympian Shawn Johnson, retired NBA star Nick Young and another former Jets receiver, Randall Cobb.
Casper Van Dien
Actor Casper Van Dien [featured in the December 2018 issue of (201)] made a cameo in Season 2 of Netflix’s Wednesday. His short-lived appearance as cult leader of MorningSong, Gideon Sterling, marks the second time Van Dien has worked with director Tim Burton. The two previously worked together on 1999’s Sleepy Hollow.
Teddy Coluca
After four seasons as a beloved secondary character on Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, veteran character actor Teddy Coluca finally took center stage — in the most unexpected way. Coluca’s character, Lester the doorman, was found dead at the end of Season 4, turning the longtime supporting player into the catalyst for Season 5’s central mystery.
Vampire Weekend
Glen Ridge High School graduate Ezra Koenig and his Grammy Award-winning band Vampire Weekend returned to New Jersey for four sold-out shows at The Wellmont Theater in Montclair. Koenig celebrated his Jersey roots each night, shouting out numerous towns throughout Bergen and Essex Counties, including Ho-Ho-Kus, Hackensack and Fair Lawn, and even dedicated the band’s latest single, “Capricorn,” to Ridgewood on night three.
Cory Booker
United States Senator Cory Booker [featured in the January 2009 issue of (201)] announced his engagement to Alexis Lewis on Instagram. Booker posted that “Alexis is one of the greatest unearned blessings of my life. She has transformed me, helping me to ground and center my inner life, and discover the joys of building a nurturing home with someone you love.”
