People Are Just Finding Out That Millie Bobby Brown Dropped Her Last Name When She Adopted Her Husband’s, And The Discourse Is Interesting

Millie and Jake, who are now 21 and 23 respectively, tied the knot in a small ceremony last May, before throwing a larger celebration in Italy a few months later.

Sharing a candid photo dump on Instagram last August, Millie featured a behind-the-scenes set picture that read: “Millie Bobby Brown Bongiovi.”However, Millie has now revealed that she has actually dropped the “Brown” from her legal name.In a recent video with VT, Millie and her Stranger Things costar Noah Schnapp sat down for a friendship test, during which Noah was asked if he knew Millie’s “full name.”

Acknowledging that Millie’s real middle name is “Bonnie” and not “Bobby” — something that she publicly revealed in a BuzzFeed interview earlier this year — Noah then questioned if her full name was “Millie Bonnie Brown Bongiovi,” to which she replied, “No.”

“Millie Bobby Bonnie Bongiovi Brown,” he guessed again through fits of laughter, to which Millie said, “No, no Bobby. Start again.”“Millie Bonnie Brown,” Noah began, with Millie quickly interjecting, “Drop the Brown.”

“Drop the Bobby, drop the Brown. It’s just Millie Bonnie Bongiovi,” she revealed. “Millie Bon Bon!”

The interview clip quickly sparked a mixed reaction online, with one popular X post with over 2 million views reading, “changing your last name for your useless husband in big 2025 we are in hell.”

If you missed it, Millie and Jake’s relationship has recently been at the center of public discourse after Millie was filmed shielding their daughter from loads of paparazzi while Jake casually trailed along behind her. This clip went viral online and prompted backlash from fans who felt Jake should’ve walked closer to Millie, held their daughter, or, at least, held some of their bags. (Noah was also seen in the footage holding a large purse as he walked behind the pair).

People also made assumptions about Jake’s parenting after his and Millie’s daughter was heard crying during one of Millie’s Stranger Things interviews.

“you’re 21, you’ve been a successful actress since you were a kid, you’re literally more known than your boyfriend… why would you erase your last name,” another post read.

In response to the viral post, heaps of X users quickly jumped to Millie’s defense. “if SHE wants her surname to be of HER HUSBANDS’ then let it be???” one person said, while another wrote, “I will never understand this new wave of anti-relationship energy. Let people love who they love and do what works for them… Modern feminism is about women having options, not hating men.”
