Everything that has happened with the former Prince Andrew has affected the rest of the British royal family. Whether it is because people are wondering how specific members of the family will react to it, or because they are commenting on the fact that the institution protected Andrew for way too long, this isn’t a scandal that will likely disappear anytime soon. Particularly with more revelations expected to come out.
Prince William, in particular, has been pointed out as the royal taking a harder stance against Andrew and everything that relates to him. And now there are reports that extends to his cousin, Princess Beatrice. According to The Express, William and Kate were blindsided by Beatrice hosting an official “afternoon tea with Princess Beatrice of York” in Saudi Arabia back in October, with the event being seen “as tone-deaf.”

“William and Kate were genuinely upset when the pictures emerged. They have been very supportive of Beatrice and Eugenie and hope now that they will tow the Palace line,” the source said.
Reportedly, there will be new rules in place for both York sisters following their father being stripped of his titles and ordered to vacate his home of Royal Lodge. “The Palace has made it crystal clear—every appearance must now be approved and vetted by senior aides before anyone gives it the go-ahead,” a source said. “There’s now a push inside the Palace to impose an ‘office-style’ approval system on Beatrice and Eugenie’s future activities—to ensure there’s no repeat of such headlines. They can’t risk another scandal linked to the York name.”
Not that long ago, there were reports that William was upset the King “personally approved” a new patronage for Princess Beatrice at the Outward Bound Trust. Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop alleged that he is “strongly opposed” to his cousins taking on any royal work, saying it’s “too soon” and “too risky.”
“William wanted the Yorks out of sight until after the King’s next health review,” a source explained. “But His Majesty insisted—he thinks the family needs to heal in public.” Another source added, “William’s pragmatic. He knows the Yorks are poison with the public. His father just won’t see it.”
This all reportedly ties back to the fact that Beatrice and Eugenie’s titles were part of the negotiations with Andrew to give up his own titles and vacate Royal Lodge, something the sisters were reportedly not pleased about. In fact, the National Examiner reported that the two were upset to the point of “trash-talking” their cousin.
“These bad feelings towards William will do them no good in the long run, but right now, the emotion is running sky-high,” an insider said. “They can’t help themselves. At the end of the day, they’re their parents’ daughters, very headstrong and defiant, and that’s really coming to the fore.”
Whether we will now see Beatrice and Eugenie attend Kate Middleton’s Christmas concert or not, and what the relationship between the sisters and William and Kate is, we will have to wait and see.
