In this season of thankfulness, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are carrying on a family tradition of giving back with their kids. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex brought their children to volunteer on an outing on the day before Thanksgiving that would make the late Princess Diana so proud.
Markle, Prince Harry and their kids Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, joined their Archewell Foundation team to visit the Our Big Kitchen Los Angeles (OBKLA) and prepare and package meals for community members experiencing food insecurity, according to the Archewell site. OBKLA is a community-run, nonprofit kitchen that distributes more than 70,000 fresh, high-quality meals each year to those in Los Angeles facing hardship.

“The Archewell Foundation remains committed to putting compassion into action—serving and uplifting communities locally and globally,” according to a statement by the Archewell Foundation. “As we head into the holiday season, we celebrate those working every day to ensure that no one is left behind and where the needs of our neighbors are met.”

Bringing their kids to help out the community is such a great holiday tradition, and we just know that Princess Diana would love the fact that they did this.
But her philanthropic legacy isn’t the only thing Princess Diana passed down. The kids also got Diana’s red hair! In an interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in Jan. 2023, Prince Harry said he “definitely” sees Diana in his kids. “The ginger gene is a strong one. The Spencer gene is very, very strong,” he said.
“I actually genuinely thought in the beginning of my relationship, should this go the distance, and we have kids, that there’s no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife’s genes,” the Duke of Sussex continued. “But, I was wrong. Go gingers!”
Especially gingers who do good!
