Actress Mila Kunisis getting candid about hosting Thanksgiving dinner.
In a November 2025 Extra TV interview, promoting the new Knives Out film, Wake Up Dead Man, Kunis shared that she “host[s] for 27 people” on Thanksgiving. She said, however, that making food for that many loved ones has become an unmanageable task.
“I will tell you this was a mistake. I’m capping it at 20 because I can cook for 20, no problem. 18 to 20, it’s fine. I have enough oven space. Like, I’m not tripling on my trays. 20-some people has surpassed my ability. I don’t have enough pots,” said the actress to the publication.
When asked what her husband of 10 years, Ashton Kutcher, thinks of her Thanksgiving undertaking, she replied, “He thinks I’m crazy.” She said he suggested that they host a potluck where their guests bring their own dish after she began panicking over making mashed potatoes for nearly 30 people.
“He’s like, ‘You need to outsource.’ And so like, I did. I finally looked at it and I went ‘I have to buy like 30 potatoes to make enough mashed potatoes.’ And I went ‘I don’t have enough containers to boil 30 potatoes!’ Like I had a meltdown,” said Kunis in the November 2025 interview. “And I was like ‘I can’t do this!’ And so he’s like ‘Why don’t you do it as a potlock?’ And I was like ‘No, we are hosting Thanksgiving!’ But I outsource my potatoes.”
Mila Kunis Spoke About Her & Her Husband’s Work Schedules
In the Extra TV interview, Kunis referenced that she traveled to London, England, to film Wake Up Dead Man, wherein she plays Geraldine Scott. She shared that she and Kutcher will purposefully “never work at the same time,” so that their children, Isabelle, 11, and Dimitri, 8, have a parent at home.
“Neither one of us works when the kids are in school out of town. And so we tag team in and out, but neither one of us is ever absent from the kids,” said Kunis to the publication.
In a November 2025 interview with Access Hollywood, Kunis noted that her son is “turning nine” a few days after Thanksgiving. She shared that her youngest child usually likes to celebrate his birthday with a sporty activity.
“It usually involves some form of activity. It could be football. It could be racing cars. It could be laser tag. It could be any and all of those things,” said Kunis in the interview with Access Hollywood.
