Prince William is taking the plunge with a new hobby that Kate Middleton will truly approve of.
The Prince of Wales, 43, made the revelation in North Wales on Tuesday, Nov. 25, during a visit planned to shine a light on young people in coastal communities.
William’s first stop of the day was a beach walk with members of the Marine Conservation Society’s Youth Ocean Network in Colwyn Bay, where he also met members of Colwyn Bay Blue Tits, a cold water swimming group.
Speaking to swimmers Chrissy Bolton, Georgia Daniels and Midge Owen Smith, the heir to the throne said that he had done some cold water dips in Scotland and enjoyed it.

In 2023, the Princess of Wales, 43, opened up about her love of cold swimming, which Prince William thought she was “crazy” for pursuing, on The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast. The series is co-hosted by Princess Anne’s son-in-law, Mike Tindall, and Princess Kate, Princess Anne and Prince William joined the show for a special episode filmed at Windsor Castle.
“I love all sports. I really, generally love all sports. I love swimming,” Princess Kate said then. “Cold swimming.”
“The colder, the better,” Prince William interjected.
“The colder, the better. I absolutely love it,” she agreed. “Slightly to the point where William’s like, ‘Catherine, you’re crazy,’ ” she added with a laugh. “And it’s dark, and it’s raining and I’ll go and seek out cold water.”
