Cynthia Erivo OPENS Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade After Losing Voice

On Thursday, November 27th, the Tony winner opened the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with a powerful performance of Nina Simone’s Feeling Good. [Music] It’s a new dawn. It’s a new day. The 38-year-old’s performance comes days after she lost her voice during the end of the Wicked for Good promotional tour, which forced her to take a step back from interviews, including at the New York City premiere. She did however make an appearance on the Today Show on November 20th, where she opened up to Guthrie about the incident earlier this month when a fan charged Ara Grande at the Wickedfor Good Singapore premiere, confirming to the TV anchor that her instinct was to protect her friend and co-star.
