Listen, if I got the Beyonce invite, I’d be all in there and I’m signing my NDA, too. [Music] Well, welcome back to Yap Session. Today we have a few special topics. Since it is Thanksgiving, we’re going to talk about which celebs we would love to have Thanksgiving with. And of course with the new Wicked launch or Wicked for good, we are going to touch on Ariana Grande and her last harrah. Oh my god. Where’s she going? No, I’m literally so upset. I was just like I like come home after work. I get into I watch a podcast. I fall asleep. I wake up and I woke up at the moment where she was saying this is my last harrah. And I was like I must be in a fever dream. This can’t be real. Sunshine’s not eternal. It’s not eternal. It’s not shining that bright. That’s so upsetting though. I really love Ariana Grande as a singer, especially when she was in her singer singer days before she was an actor. Like, well, she was an actress before, but you know what I mean. High ponytail era when she was in her high ponytail era. Yeah. But do you think maybe she’ll give us like a little Adele moment? Like she’ll take breaks. She’ll take long pauses. I was going to say had two farewell tours. She’s actually the performer on SNL with Ariana Grande. Wait, my point. I think with the lining, I mean, who knows? Yes, this could very well be her last tour. Who knows? Like I said, Sher had two farewell tours. She’s still kicking it. I get that maybe she does want to take a break from pop music cuz I think she is a Broadway musical theater girl at heart. I mean, that’s how she got her start. She was on 13 with Liz Gilly as her victorious co-star. So, I think maybe she wants to revisit her roots a little bit with especially with this whole Wicked thing. I think she’s gonna be in her musical theater era for a little bit and for for all we know in a few years, give it five to 10 years, maybe she’s entitled to take a break. Like the girls are entitled to take a break cuz even when she was telling Amy Polo, she was like that’s totally fine. Like she wasn’t offended because it’s like when you’re creative, you work that muscle until you can’t work it anymore. You need a break sometimes. So also she’s she grows. Maybe she’s grown out of it. She’s going through phases and I feel like she’s been in the media for so long and you know with the most recent thing of that guy like running after her. Oh my god. You know what I mean? She had a lot of scary experiences, especially with touring, right? Yes. Yeah. Oh, and like the London thing, right? Yeah. So, it’s like, you know, maybe she just wants to woo and recharge and duck away for a little bit, which good for her. I wonder if she’ll be doing more acting, like more like really acting. She’s going to reconnect with her musical theater roots. So, you think Broadway? You don’t think on Broadway or at least um movie musicals? I think movies. So, maybe she’s going to get an Oscar for Wicked. She’ll go back to Broadway to get her Tony. She’s an aspiring. She definitely already has a Grammy. I’m not sure 100% sure on that, but she has to, right? Yeah. She’s on and then she could get Yes, maybe that’s the plan. Maybe it’s just like a shift in focus right now. Absolutely. cuz Cynthia Revo is pretty close to an EGOT if not already one, right? She’s the the two of them are on their way and we and we have confirmed that she does have a Grammy. So, she’s she’s like halfway there. She’s going to be there very soon. Absolutely love that for both of them. Yeah. No, I know. And speaking of the Oscar that she might get would be for Wicked, Wicked is coming out or has has recently come out and people that people can talk about. Are you guys excited about it? Did you see it? Are you how you feel? You know, I have to say that there is a little wicked fatigue in terms of the press coverage for me. I’m sure they’re exhausted by it, too. I know Cynthia and Ariana didn’t do interviews at the New York premiere. Mhm. Because I think Cynthia was sick and Ariana didn’t do them in solidarity, but like they seem tired. They were all over the world for their press coverage of it. I feel like I’m also tired. However, I will say when the first one came out, I was so mad that they split it into two movies because the Broadway show is perfect. I’m like, why do we have to watch two different movies where you have to wait all this time for the next one? And then I saw it and I fully ate my words the second I saw Cynthia Revo perform Defying Gravity. And I started crying and I was like, “This is amazing. It’s so good. I love it so much. Oh my god.” So, I do have a feeling I’m going to be doing the same thing this time around. I am taking a break like our Oh, I agree. I’m with you on that. I can’t. You won’t even see it. I didn’t watch the first one if I’m being honest. Oh my people are going to be nervous. I’m speaking as a former theater kid. My thing is I cannot sit in a theater with everyone screaming, singing. I don’t want to hear these people say. Oh, okay. That’s fair. That’s fair. I don’t You guys aren’t the professionals. I’m not paying to hear you guys sing. I’m paying to hear the professionals on the screen saying, “I don’t want to hear it.” So, when it goes to streaming, you’re down. You’re going to watch. I’m open to it because I agree. I I I’m also experiencing the fatigue that Ashley is. It’s I feel like when things are so overpromoted, especially for this long, I’m over it. And also, did it not just come out? The first one? I don’t know. Last year, the first one came out last year. It’s It’s been a full year. It feels like it just left. And it’s like they’re already here with a vengeance. It was like the same weekend too, right around Thanksgiving or the holidays or something like that. Um, but yeah, good for them. They filmed it all together at once so they could just like, “Girl, we’re done.” Yeah. Collect that pay with your life. 100%. I mean, what do you guys think about their friendship? Cynthia and Ariana, like, do you guys think it’s sweet? Think it’s a little weird? You’re holding space? I love the finger. Holding space for it. We’re holding space. No, she was on the Amy Polar podcast and she said, “What? I just wanted to offer some support. What’s wrong with that? I said, Ariana, sweetie, you I think they’re getting weirdly touchy and like they act like they’re such like little like delicate. Like I feel like they always act like they’re about to break. Like I saw a recent clip. I think it was like a some sort of press conference or whatever with Mark Platt and Mark Platt started shaking Ariana’s arms. It was like part of the bit. It was a joke. It was funny. Like this and like and then Cynthia all of a sudden grabs her arm and kisses it. Oh, no. She’s not fragile. She’s not actually a little fragile doll. No. I feel like they’re leaning into it for the publicity of it all, too, though, cuz they’re well aware at this point. And they could stop and they won’t. And they won’t. It just feels a little a little I don’t know. I don’t know. It’s a little strange. It’s like no matter how close I am with my friends, we’re just not that touchy. I feel like honestly what I think is like maybe for the role they were like, we have to get really close, you know? We have to show off that, you know, we could be these best friends. We’re roommates, so let’s live together. You know, I mean, that’s not confirmed, but maybe. You know, they were definitely spending a lot of time together. And as Ariana did say in an interview, she was like, “We’re trying to be intentional about building this emotional f familiarity, whatever.” So, that’s kind of why they were doing this. But, you know, it’s just a lot of a lot of actors do this and it doesn’t read as weird, I guess, when you’re on the press run. Like, we’re not on screen anymore. The cameras are gone, babe. But, what it’s up to them. It’s I Do you think that they’re sick of each other yet? Do you think I think they love each other? Do you think one of them is like, “Okay, I can’t wait till this press run is over. We’ve been spending too much time together.” I feel like they have to I don’t think they are. They love each other. Look at them. I think they love each other, but they only spend so much time with someone. And I get they’ve been through a lot together, especially filming this movie. Don’t you ever get sick of being with someone you love, too, though? You’re like, “No, you do. here. This is no Ari could take a break. No shade to Ariana, but I feel like she’s kind of one of those people where it’s like, you know, I’ve gotten all this time with you and now I’ll be gone. You know, it very well could be that. And I’m sure she’s ready to kind of wrap this up, too. And Cynthia is going to be heartbroken with an e God. I’m curious if they’re going to perform at the Oscars. What do you guys think? I mean, it would be a missed opportunity. This is such a big movie. There’s such good amazing singers. It’s like I can’t imagine a better opportunity to I mean it’s probably the biggest talked about movie of the year. I feel like it’s kind of obvious that they would. I’d be shocked if they don’t perform. Well, it’s so funny because Timothy Shalamé is nominated for a Grammy for his movie and but they’re nominated, too. So, it’s like, well, sorry. We know that’s going to them. It’s so interesting cuz I wonder if Timothy Shalamé is going to be spending Thanksgiving with the Kardashians. Did you know they always have this like lavish spread? I’m sure they’re eating good. Kim says she can make some good soul food. I mean, oh, please ship it to us, Kim, and we’ll test it right here for you. I won’t be the judge of that. We’ll do a yap session where we just test your food out and we’ll let everybody know if we think that’s true. Imagine that’s her next venture. Skims soul food. Lol. Wait, she didn’t say soul. Did she say soul food? That’s I think so. Yeah. Wait, I think she did say like North always makes fun of her cooking cuz let’s be honest, when’s the last time she’s cooked? I wouldn’t either if I were if I had the money for a chef. Let’s be honest. But I think I could be wrong. Did she mention that like North was like, “Well, you do like kind of make a good mac and cheese or something.” Yeah, I was going to say something about her mac and cheese. I remember time she made it was like a year or two ago or Halloween. And I feel like North, you know, her parents got some money. I’m sure she’s tasted some nice quality mac and cheese globally. And you know she’s not going to let Kim live it down if it’s bad because no one humbles Kim more than Northwest. Absolutely. You can just tell. Yeah. So would that be a table you’d want to sit in? Cuz I feel like I’d love to see North, you know, rate all of Kim’s meals. From a person like I want to hang out with the people at the table, but the food I probably could take it or leave it. Of course I want to hang out with the Kardashians and see what’s going on. I want to be a fly on the wall. Who wouldn’t? I mean, I’d want to taste the food just because I know they’re not making it and a private chef definitely is. They’re plating it. But speaking of of a private chef and all that, so having Friendsgiving, cuz the girls are having Friendsgivings now and so one of my friends was trying to have one and trying to hire someone or do like a catering situation. Okay. Now, my hot take is I don’t I don’t believe in that. I think we should all be getting our elbows greasy in the kitchen and getting in there and that’s the fun of it. Like, and if you don’t know how to cook, learn. That’s how that’s what I say. I agree. something. We’re alcohol. The drinks. Yeah, we’re on the drink. We’re on the same page. Yeah, we’re on the same page. It’s really hard to mess up a drink. I agree with you. Like I don’t know if I really want the chef in there cooking the food. Like I’d be I don’t know. Like I cuz I’m also like where’s your family? Right. I’m from the south so like we even don’t even like dishwashers for all. Like and they’re handwashing my dishes. I mean for me I don’t think I’d be there as much for the food. I’d rather be there just to hear the conversations. Like I would pay money to hear like North and Timothy Shalomé to have a conversation. Or like how do you think he like Do you think Stormmy likes him? I don’t know. Or do they bring up Bianca? Not me being messy. See, you’re already not invited. I don’t know this man. Y’all can invite me though. I can go. Okay. No, but also it’s like I feel like Scott goes, “Would Tristan go?” Like I’m sure he does. All the exes and the currents and there’s just too much to unpack in that dynamic. We do need the cameras there for the Thanksgiving. We really do. Yes. Yes. I remember they filmed talking about Christmas and they did talk about having a private chef and one of them was like, “It’s so crazy that we have people waiting on us on Christmas Day. We just have a chill morning. Why don’t we do that?” And then I think they ended up having it catered on Christmas day. Had the private chef anyway. Listen, I’m sure the the rate was nice. Yeah. I’m sure they got paid handsomely. Yeah. I’ll see my family on Friday. It’s fine. I’ll cook for the Kardashians happily if I’m that chef. So, so who who would you guys want to have Thanksgiving dinner with? For me, I think it would be Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco. Oh, I think they would cook a great Thanksgiving dinner cuz first of all, you know, it’s homemade. Second of all, they’re the sweetest couple. I feel like they’d be so warm and welcoming. Um, they’re the most like normal couple I feel like in in Hollywood. Absolutely. Selena’s a chef. She does have her cooking show and she does have her kitchen wear line, but also Benny loves to cook for her. Like he posts cooking videos as well. He’ll do anything for her. He is obsessed with that girl. That’s how I like him. Obsessed. That’s what I mean. I feel like they host a great Thanksgiving dinner. Yeah. Vibes, food, everything. I just feel like so cozy and warm and welcomed. I don’t know. I know. Oh, this is tough. I need to keep thinking. You know, I have an answer, but this is a nonseleelebrity answer. So, I know y’all going to be disappointed, but do you remember the Thanksgiving grandma that accidentally texted this like young teenager and like they became besties? And they became besties like eight years in a row. They have been they haven’t missed a Thanksgiving. It’s so cute. And now this year, I just found out that like she’s they lost her husband and she’s sick and like he’s but they’re like real life family and it all came off of of an accidental text. I would love to be at that at that table. Absolutely. And now this year she’s so it’s so sweet, right? And now this year she’s a little bit too sick to host. So now Jamal, the guy she texted by accident, is hosting and they’re real life family. I love this. I love that. Wait, I was thinking of like true genuine A-listers. Like whose house can I get inside of that I never see? And you’re giving me this hard. I’m like, oh wait. She’s like Beyonce or Lady Gaga? Which one? I’m like, oh, how often? Like where how can I get into Beyonce’s house? I never see much of her house. Travis and Taylor, they’re pretty. Taylor would have a good Thanksgiving because she’s also like she gives very she is fall. Taylor is fall. Yeah, she’s fall. But she’d have a catered. She definitely would have because she loves to bake and she likes to cook. I could see that catered though because you know sometimes the the Chiefs play on Thanksgiving. That is true. So if but if they’re not, can you imagine like the guys or like the girls whatever like the football section in front of the TV while she’s baking? Like I think it’s just a cozy vibe, too. Like it’s giving fall. She’ll definitely be at the game on Thanksgiving. Yeah. I’m not 100% sure if they’re playing this year, but you know, someone’s going to play and sometimes it is the Chiefs. So I could see that being a thing where she just like goes to the game and then because they played on Christmas last year. Okay. My husband was at the game and um against the Steelers and I was like, “Look for Taylor.” Well, they are playing this year. I think they’re playing against the Cowboys. Oh, that’s exciting. Oh, okay. So, that will be Thanksgiving then. Okay. Well, there we go. Do we want to be in a box watching? Be in the box with her. I mean, however you want to spend your Thanksgiving. Wait, the options are endless now. Cute, but if they lose, then the guy’s in a bad mood. You kind of got to be You still have free drinks. I’m sure the food is flowing. Taylor Swift. full of other things to be thankful for. Now I’m thinking about me being in the back of the car like on the way home to Taylor’s house and Travis is pouting cuz he lost and I’m just like we said I have dessert. It’s okay. Can you still pick up the pies? Is it okay if we still eat? But if he wins and everything’s great. Every We’re popping bottles champagne going. So let’s go. Who do you want to Yeah. I’m like who are you going to pick? That’s a great question. And I’m trying not to say Beyonce. I know. No, but you should because Beyonce tell us what the house is like. Family. Listen, if I got the Beyonce invite, I’d be all in there. And I’m signing my NDA, too. And violating it and telling us when you get back though. Listen, I can’t say that on camera. Right. Right. He will not violate his NDA. He won’t. You know, I would also love like a little Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moment cuz, you know, it’s going to be a good landscape. Martha Stewart. Oh my gosh. Of course. Of course, you know, she sets up the spread like nobody else. Wait, Patty Leel, I don’t know if you remember if she had those those pies. I feel like I’d be I’d be into that. Maybe a little song if she gets to sing in there. In the kitchen baking, singing. Okay, I think you have the best answer. 10 out of 10. Patty Leel. Good tunes, good pies. I believe Patty Leel karaoke on Thanksgiving. Or Oh my god, wait. They’re all sitting around a piano. I love it. Wait. Like like just a slew of A-listers like around a piano.
