Whitney Leavitt lands starring Broadway role as Roxie Hart in ‘Chicago’ after ‘Dancing With the S…
From mom talk to the ballroom and now on to Broadway, Whitney Levit is having her star moment. Following her gig on Dancing with the Stars, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wife star announced on December 1st that she will be making her Broadway debut in 2026. Whitney will be starring as Roxy Hart in Chicago for shows beginning February 2nd and running until March 15th at the Ambassador Theater in New York City. Grateful beyond words to announce that I will be joining Chicago musical in the iconic role of Roxy Hart. See you in New York City,” she captioned her announcement post, which featured her sitting on a chair and snapping her fingers to the intro tune of Roxy. Plenty of her Dancing with the Stars castmates threw her love and support in the comment section, including Alex Earl, who wrote, “I’m so excited for you. I have chills.” Elaine Hendrickx added, “Congratulations. Getting exactly what you wanted is pure girl fire.” Whitney will be following in the footsteps of Vanderpump Rules alum Ariana Maddox, who also starred as Roxy after competing on season 32 of Dancing with the Stars. Ariana left a series of clapping hand emojis on Whitney’s post to celebrate the exciting news. Whitney hinted at the new role while appearing on the Call Her Daddy podcast with her Dancing with the Stars partner Mark Ballas last month. “What I can say is that a dance that Mark and I performed on Dancing with the Stars is going to come to life,” she teased at the time, playing Koi on exactly what the gig entailed. However, those who had been watching Dancing with Stars were quick to get the hint. As one of Whitney’s most memorable routines this season was her performance to Cellblock Tango. Despite not winning the Mirrorball Trophy, Whitney and Mark, who were eliminated during the semifinals, showed Call Her Daddy viewers what they were cooking up for one of their finale performances. A truly epic cinematic freestyle that received raving reviews from fans on social media. Mark later explained on Instagram, “I had this concept brewing for a while. Made mood boards filled with imagery and inspiration, and I had been working on the music arrangement for 2 weeks. Just when it seemed like this idea was never going to have a life, we got the call from Caller Daddy and ABC and they made it happen.” He went on to thank everyone who worked on it behind the scenes along with a special shout out to Whitney. He wrote, “I’m so proud of you and was so happy to share this experience with you. It’s funny that you got your start on a reality show, but I got to see and know the real you. Congrats on all the exciting things coming up.” The Mirrorball Trophy ended up of course going to Robert Irwin and Whitney Carson with Alex Earl and Valish Murkovsky coming in a close second, marking the tightest finale race in Dancing with the Stars history for first and second place. Following her exciting Chicago announcement, Whitney told Dancing with the Stars judge and extra correspondent Derek Huff over Zoom that landing the role as Roxy is so surreal. “I could not be more excited,” she raved, admitting that doing Dancing with the Stars felt like the ultimate audition. She added, “We always have those delusional dreams, and it always seemed like something that was so unattainable. So, the fact that it’s like actually happening, it just feels like I’m pinching myself. Fans can visit broadway.com for tickets to see Whitney in Chicago.
