Prince William has reportedly made his stance regarding his cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, very “direct” in the wake of renewed scrutiny surrounding their parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson. The former couple faced further public embarrassment after new details surfaced about their connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Following the developments, Andrew and Fergie now hold the status of commoners after the King stripped them of their royal titles. While much public attention has focused on the potential impact on their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, the Palace has been clear that the couple’s misfortunes will not affect their children’s positions within the royal family.
At the same time, sources suggest that the King is determined to shield his nieces, Beatrice and Eugenie, from the fallout of their parents’ controversies. Reports indicate that Prince William shares this approach, taking a similarly protective stance towards his cousins, the Express reports.

Writing in Hello! Magazine, royal author Robert Jobson stated: “Those close to him [William] say he is weary of the hysteria around Andrew. The outrage. The noise. The moral grandstanding. His position is direct: Beatrice and Eugenie must not be punished for their father’s alleged sins.
“Necessary action was taken – by King Charles, in consultation with his eldest son and heir – and it had to be. This is not sentimentality. It is judgment. Accountability belongs to Andrew, not to his daughters,” he added.
It comes after news reports suggest that Princess Catherine has sent “personal invitations” to her cousins-in-law for this year’s Christmas carol service, in hopes to maintain harmony within the Royal Family during the festive period.
The Princess of Wales will host her annual Christmas Carol Concert for the fifth year in a row, with this year’s events celebrating the “power of love” with several major celebrities set to attend.
One royal expert highlighted the delicate balance for Beatrice and Eugenie amid ongoing family controversies.
Speaking to Fox News, royal commentator Neil Sean explained: “Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie received personal invitations for this year’s ‘Together at Christmas’ from Princess Catherine’s office.
“This is Catherine’s project, and she has the final say — very similar to the way Prince William operates Earthshot. Above all, yes, the Royal Family wants to be seen as united amid what has been a very difficult year.”
However, Sean also cautioned about the potential pressures on the sisters, as he continued: “This puts the sisters in a very difficult dilemma. If they don’t attend, it looks like they’re snubbing a prestigious invite. If they do attend, they know there could be a media circus with them at the centre of attention.”
