White House hits back at Sabrina Carpenter, quoting her lyrics after ICE video backlash

The White House is firing back with a little lyrical flare after Sabrina Carpenter slammed the Trump administration for using her music in a controversial ICE promotional video. It all started when the 26-year-old pop star spotted a montage of ICE arrests set to her hit track Juno. And let’s just say she was not having it. Carpenter took to X calling the video evil and disgusting, adding, “Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.” But the White House, they clapped right back using Carpenters’s own words. Spokesperson Abigail Jackson issued a statement to the Post, opening with, “Here’s a short and sweet message for Sabrina Carpenter.” A direct nod to the singer’s chart topping album. And then came the extra sting. Jackson continued, “Anyone who would defend these sick monsters must be stupid. Or is it slow?” Borrowing a pointed line from Carpenter’s Manchild lyrics. The ICE video at the center of the drama featured slow-motion clips of officers handcuffing and detaining individuals all set to Carpenters’s bright, bubbly Juno. Even the caption took a jab, reading, “Have you ever tried this one? Bye-bye.” Echoing her lyrics. Fans quickly rallied behind Carpenter, urging her to lawyer up. One supporter wrote, “Proud to support an artist who uses her platform to support vulnerable, marginalized, and demonized groups.” Another chimed in, “You gained hella brownie points for this, not going to lie.” Carpenter isn’t the first pop powerhouse to call out the administration. Just last month, Olivia Rodriggo slammed the Department of Homeland Security for using her music in a video encouraging undocumented immigrants to self-deport, warning, “Don’t ever use my songs to promote your racist, hateful propaganda.” So, between artists speaking out, lyrics being weaponized, and ICE videos sparking outrage, the music politics collision is louder than ever. For now, one thing’s clear. Sabrina Carpenter definitely didn’t sign off on this remix.
