Hugh Jackman, Kate Hudson admit they feel like a married couple after filming ‘Song Sung Blue’
Are you now officially like huge huge Neil Diamond fans, would you say? Yes. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. I had no idea his catalog was so extensive. Yeah. And also diving into watching him as a performer. You know, he’s one of the great of all time. He’s one of the greatest songwriters. If he never stepped on a stage, he’d be an icon, but he’s actually one of the great performers, and that’s not a given, I don’t think. I love I love it. And I hope this movie actually generates a whole new wave of of interest in his music. Um, and what was the most fun about working together? A the most fun actually. You are fun. You’re fun all the time. You’re just fun too. Getting on stage together was pretty awesome, I think. Yeah. And we had a great group of actors with us. We had Yeah. But I think the most fun was just the fact that it was so easy for us. So, like everything we were doing was the work was fun. And I know that sounds kind of weird, but like we had a lot of fun, but also we were doing kind of intense work and we enjoyed the experience together, you know? It was like safe and trusting and that made it fun. We also had like a great crew. The crew was the crew was great. And that starts from, you know, the man who’s been on this project since before it was even a script. And uh and you know, trickles down. Uh favorite Neil, last question. Favorite Neil Diamond song. Well, I am. I said, yeah, me too. But to sing together. Oh, Holly Holly. Yeah. Crunchy granola. Well, you like you like sing crunchy granola. Sweet caramel. You love crunchy granola. Oh, no. Forever jeans. Yeah, I like I like singing forever and blue jeans. Look at that. You finished each other’s sentence. It’s very cute. It’s true. We played a married couple. Like we only shop at 36 days, but it really does feel like we’re married. We Yeah, we were married a very long time. Yeah. I’m going to get hit with that later on. Thank you.
Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman played an onscreen couple for just over a month on the “Song Sung Blue” set, but that loving feeling is still there. “We played a married couple,” Jackman told Page Six exclusively at the 2025 Gotham Awards. “We only shot for 36 days, but it really does feel like we were married (for) a long time.” Hudson agreed with the sweet sentiment.
