Prince Harry, the second son of the British king, appeared on a U.S. broadcast and sarcastically criticized U.S. President Donald Trump, joking that Americans were obsessed with the royal family and elected an American king.

According to the BBC on the 4th (local time), Prince Harry, who has resigned from his royal duties and resides in the United States, performed a brief performance with the host Colbert on the CBS late-night talk show “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” the previous day.

Prince Harry said he tried to audition for the role of the prince in a fictional movie but got lost.

Colbert asked why the real prince wanted to star in such a movie.

Prince Harry replied, “Americans are obsessed with Christmas movies and the royal family, so what’s not to be done?”

When Colbert expressed doubt, he said, “Really? I heard you elected a king,” he responded.

Prince Harry’s remarks are interpreted as an indirect reference to the “No Kings” (No King) protests by millions across the United States in October against President Trump’s state administration.

Prince Harry also pointed out that the CBS parent company Paramount paid a large amount of settlement money in a civil lawsuit filed by President Trump.

Prince Harry said, “I will do everything that you TV officials do: self-filming to get a role, flying at your own expense to audition, agreeing to baseless lawsuits with the White House.”

When Colbert replied, “I didn’t do that,” Prince Harry responded, “So I think you’re cancelled.” This is a reference to CBS’ surprise announcement in July that the Call Bear show would end in May 2026, 33 years later.

This is Prince Harry’s second appearance on The Late Show. He appeared in January 2023 to promote his memoir “Spare.” At the time, The Late Show had its highest ratings in two years.
