Meghan Markle’s Dad Thomas Markle Had Left Leg Amputated | E! News

Meghan Markle’s aranged father is facing another health scare. 81-year-old Thomas Markle recently experienced a blood clot in his left leg that led to the amputation of the limb below the knee December 3rd. Tom Markle Jr. told the Daily Mail. He says to the outlet, quote, “My dad is being very brave. His foot turned blue and then black. It happened very quickly. I took him to a local hospital and they did some scans and an ultrasound and said the leg had to be amputated.” He continues, “There was no option. I was told the leg had to be removed and it was a case of life or death.” His sister Samantha Marco believes the strain of the last few years has taken its toll on their dad. She tells the outlet, quote, “He’s a strong man, but he has been through so much. My father has been through two heart attacks, a stroke, and an earthquake.” It’s unclear if Megan has been in contact with her father, as the two have been estranged for years. Events leading up to Megan and Prince Harry’s 2018 wedding shook Thomas’s relationship with the suits alum, whom he shares with ex-wife Doria Ragland. He and Megan became estranged just before she married the Duke of Sussex in a royal ceremony in England, which Thomas missed due to heart surgery. [Music]
