Tim McGraw has sparked headlines plenty of times, but this time, his outfit stole the show.
The country crooner gave fans something to talk about after appearing in Las Vegas over the weekend for his Tim McGraw: Live in Vegas shows.
The 58-year-old is filling in for Dolly Parton’s previously scheduled residency shows, which were postponed until next year as she battles health issues.
Though his vocals were impressive during his performance of “Everywhere,” it was his pants that caused a stir online. While they fit the country aesthetic, they were a clear departure from his usual slacks and blue jeans, with the suede material, side fringe and notably snug fit making them an unexpected choice for the singer.

McGraw paired the look with a brown button-up shirt and his signature black cowboy hat, along with a belt and boots.
His pants sparked a wave of comments from fans, as a few suggested he was getting his fashion-inspo from another major country star. “Dude raided Lainey Wilson’s closet,” one wrote, as a second echoed, “Lainey Wilson wore them better 🤣.”
“Lainey McGraw” one fan renamed him.
“How can Faith let him go out like that?” another questioned, mentioning his wife, Faith Hill, with another chiming in, “Wow can’t believe he wore those.”
“Faith come get your man, please!” one fan joked, as someone else expressed, “I love this man. I love his music. I love his voice, but oh my God I cannot take my eyes off of those pants.😳”
“I can’t unsee this,” another noted, as plenty more said they headed “right for the comments” after seeing the video, which “did not disappoint.”
Others quickly came to his defense, with one stating, “I like the pants, he looks great” and another adding, “I think he looks great! People gettin a little too judgy about what others wear.”
“Remember girls he’s in Vegas and what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas I love Tim McGraw always have doesn’t matter what he wears his voice is one of a kind 💙” one reminded read.
“Hello! Aging like fine wine!” and “Tim I can’t focus” also lit up the comment section.
A handful of comments also suggested that McGraw and his stylist should’ve learned their lesson after Van Halen icon David Lee Roth went viral a few months ago for his extremely skintight trousers while performing at the M3 Rock Festival in Columbia, Maryland.
“I guess he didnt bother to read the comments on the David Lee Roth posts,” one quipped.
During his residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, McGraw surprised fans by bringing out his daughter, Audrey McGraw, who performed a rendition of Heart’s “Barracuda,” as fans said she upstaged her dad.
Earlier this year, McGraw ditched his signature cowboy hat that’s defined his look for decades, looking nearly unrecognizable in the process.
