The Swedish Royal Court has reportedly confirmed Princess Sofia met with Jeffrey Epstein a number of times before she married Prince Carl Philip.
Numerous media outlets are reporting the royal court has now confirmed to Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter that the former model and reality TV star met the convicted paedophile a number of times around 2005.
It comes two days after the newspaper reportedly published emails between Epstein and Swedish business executive Barbro Ehnbom that mention the royal, who was then known as Sofia Hellqvist.

Ehnbom was previously described as a mentor to Sofia and attended her 2015 wedding to Prince Carl Philip, who is the son of Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf.
According to a report published in People, Ehnbom reportedly sent an email to Epstein in December 2005 that contained a photo of Princess Sofia.
“This is Sofia, an aspiring actress who just arrived in New York,” the email, translated from Swedish, allegedly said.
“She’s the girl I told you about before I left, who I thought you might like to meet. Maybe we can visit before you go on holiday?”

Epstein is said to have replied, “I’m in the Caribbean. Does she want to come for a couple of days? I’ll send a ticket.”
This was thought to be a reference to the notorious Epstein Island, which was located in the United States Virgin Islands, which are part of the Caribbean.
The Swedish Royal Court has now reportedly confirmed to Dagens Nyheter that Princess Sofia was “introduced to the person in question on a few occasions around 2005”.
However, it said she did not accept the invitation to join Epstein in the Caribbean.
“The princess has not had any contact with the person in question for 20 years,” it said.
Dagens Nyheter also published a 2006 email from Epstein’s assistant to Ehnbom.
“Jeffrey wonders what really happened with Camilla. Did you tell her she has a ticket to New York anytime she wants?” they allegedly wrote.
Ehnbom replied, “I think he means Sofia, the little beautiful dark-haired girl who had her friend Camilla with her.”
She then said Epstein offered both women places in an acting school but there were problems with their visas.
Prior to meeting Prince Carl Philip, Sofia was a glamour model famous for a racy photo shoot for a Swedish men’s magazine Slitz that appeared to show her naked and holding a boa constrictor.
She was later crowned Miss Slitz 2004.
The following year she appeared on the Swedish reality TV show, Paradise Hotel, which invited a group of single people to stay at a luxury tropical resort while competing to find a partner.
In 2005, she moved to Manhattan to study accounting at the New York Institute of English and Business, and reportedly worked as a waitress to support herself.
She also attended a number of social events.

It is thought it was during this period that she crossed paths with Epstein, who had a home in New York.
She later returned to Sweden to study global ethics, including children’s rights, at Stockholm University.
She went on to meet Prince Carl Philip in a nightclub in 2009 and their relationship was confirmed the following year.
Princess Sofia told Swedish television channel TV4 in 2018 that she was met with “an enormous hate storm from people who had opinions about [her] as a person” after their relationship was made public.
“I was surprised, and it definitely affected me. I didn’t understand that people had such need to express how badly they felt about me. It was very tough,” she said.
The couple wed in 2015 and later set up the Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia Foundation to address the type of hate speech and online bullying she suffered.

Princess Sofia usually attends the Nobel Prize ceremony in Stockholm but skipped the December 10 event.
It is not known if this was due to the fallout from the Epstein emails or because she is still officially on maternity leave, even though she recently attended another event.
Princess Sofia’s reported connection with Epstein follows the fall from grace of another royal with connections to the paedophile, who died in jail in 2019.
Andrew Moubtbatten-Windsor’s brother King Charles recently stripped him of all remaining titles and stylings, including that of prince, following renewed interest in his relationship with Epstein.
