Patrick Schwarzenegger jokes with Dad Arnold about ‘Jingle All The Way’

So, um, just out of curiosity, when you were growing up, when you were little, uh, like the rest of us at the holidays, did you watch Jingle All the Way all the time? I love it. Yeah. Right. Actually, like every Christmas, me and my friend were just we just flew in from from Doha, actually, and on the plane, it had Jin all the way on on the on the screen, and we both looked at each other like, should we watch it? It’s it’s a it’s a Christmas it’s a Christmas. You maybe want to tell the audience quickly about how you came to the set after school and did your homework in my motor home. Yeah. And then watched when we did the actions outside in the studio and all that stuff. Yeah. Now he’s the moderator. No, no, no. It’s a great that’s probably one of the questions I get I get asked a lot is kind of how you know why did you want to become an actor or how did you get interested in the the film space and everything and um you know inherently it was through obviously through you and it was my favorite activity growing up was to go to set and for him to pick me up from preschool and from kindergarten. It was DK. He would come and his the Hummer, you know, as a kid, you’d get to sit in the back and uh he would take me over, this was when everything was still filming in LA, and we would go to Universal Studios, and he would go in and he would go into his hair and makeup, the trailer, and I got to be in his trailer, and I would do my homework in there, and and I would eat and and, you know, eat some food, and then I would get to kind of go on to set and watch how he came out as, you know, Mr. freeze or as these different characters in Terminator 3, I remember. And it was such a fascinating uh experience of going to your dad with with your dad to work, but watching the work happen of watching him go in as, you know, his dad and then coming out of the trailer as a different character and to actually go onto these sets. Um, even today when I go on set, I I it’s just for me it’s kind of like that the happy place of getting to actually see how everything works behind the scenes. But, um, it was just like it was kind of like a a kid in a candy store. It was like this this dream world that you got to see everything and it and it it just made me super intrigued with it. And then also he would take me on the golf cart and we would go from his his set to the Jaws ride and then over to to the uh ET ride the earthquake ride. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All those different things. And he could do it with and then we would go up to the big my favorite was at the end of the day the big trailer and had the little ramp you’d walk up and that was where craft services was and it had all the different candies and all the different food in there and stuff like that. But yeah, that’s what I I mean that was for me growing up going to work with dad was was like that. Um, so that’s what I that’s kind of how I fell in love with that that side of the the industry.
