It turns out Prince Andrew wasn’t the only royal with ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Princess Sofia of Sweden, who is married to the King’s son, Prince Carl Philip, is reported to have met with the convicted sex offender on multiple occasions when she was a young woman. Sofia was, at the time, a lingerie model and aspiring actress – when she was seemingly pushed into the disgraced financier’s orbit by a businesswoman she knew.
The Royal Court of Sweden has acknowledged she did meet with Epstein on more than one occasion when she was in her twenties, long before her marriage to Prince Carl Philip.
This week, her absence at one of the most high-profile royal events of the year was marked. The Swedish palace announced ahead of time that she would not be attending the glitzy Nobel Prize gala, instead staying at home to look after her 10-month-old daughter, “Princess Sofia is still looking after Princess Ines, who is still very young,” a spokesperson said
However, amid the newly emerged links of another royal to Epstein, it’s a stark reminder of how embedded the late paedophile became in the upper echelons of society. Princess Sofia’s meetings with Epstein are reported to have taken place before he was convicted of sex offences against a minor in 2008.

“Princess Sofia met the person in question a few times about 20 years ago,” officials said, “She was introduced to the person in question several times around 2005.” Sofia was at that stage a far cry from the royal life she knows now, but had a contact that allegedly helped push her into elite circles.

The Swedish press has reported that emails have leaked that indicate a contact put Sofia forward to meet with Epstein, “This is Sofia, aspiring actress… Maybe you’d like to meet her,” one allegedly said. Epstein was excited at the prospect, allegedly replying to the email, “I’m in the Caribbean. Does she want to come for a couple of days? I’ll send a ticket.”
Spokespeople deny Sofia ever visited Little St. James, Epstein’s private island in the Caribbean, where Andrew Mountbatten Windsor is alleged to have once had an “orgy”, a claim he also denies.
Instead, Sofia is said to have met Epstein in New York, with the financier even offering to allegedly help her go to acting school, something that never materialised. His assistant is even alleged to have chased up after Sofia in the emails, asking about the now-princess and her friend Camilla who he met together.
“Sofia, the little beautiful dark-haired girl who had her friend Camilla with her,” one email allegedly says, also saying: “Jeffrey wonders what really happened with Camilla. Did you tell her she has a ticket to New York anytime she wants?”
