Taylor Swift’s fears over terror plot, ‘top secret’ surprises revealed in new documentary
We’ve had a series of very violent, scary things happen to the tour. Like we we dodged like a massacre situation. Taylor Swift’s era’s tour spanned 51 cities, 149 shows, and rad in over $2 billion. But halfway through, the plug was almost pulled. In episode one of the new Disney Plus docu series, End of an Era, an emotional Swift addressed the thwarted terrorist plot that led her to cancel three concerts in Vienna in August 2024. Despite fears, Swift said during a sit-down interview in London that she would be resuming the tour mere days after the threat. She compared her job as stadium headliner to that of an airplane pilot, navigating turbulence while keeping passengers calm. In another moment at Wembley Stadium, we see how the singer dealt with pre-show jitters by unwinding backstage with an audio book and a check-in from her mom, Andrea. Adding to the anxiety, in July 2024, three young girls were fatally stabbed at a Taylor Swift themed dance party in Southport, UK. She fought back tears meeting the victim’s families in London. I’m going to um like meet some of these families tonight. While the doc didn’t shy away from darker moments, it also showed the lighter side. Like how Taylor went to great lengths to keep certain surprises under wraps, she secretly worked in an entirely new era, the tortured poets department. The albums written on tour, dropped in April 2024, and debuted a month later on stage in Paris. Um, busy much? Taylor explained how they rehearsed in a top secret facility to lock in the set list. They put together all new choreography and changed up the order of the chapters. So Taylor had to relearn the entire show. Oh my god, that was a risk. That could have gone so bad. I swear to God if I heard people online being like, “I missed the old show.” I was going to be like, “Oh my god, you have no idea how hard this was to do.” That era also featured the Tay Roomber, a moving platform operated by a hidden crew member underneath, as revealed in the era’s tour book. Music, movies, books. Is there anything she can’t do?
