Legendary musician Michelle Phillips is simply glowing alongside her daughter, Chynna Phillips.

The singer and actress, 81, who rose to stardom as a member of The Mamas and Papas back in the ’60s, looks happy and healthy these days after a long career in the spotlight. After the end of her music career, the beauty became a thriving actress, with roles on Knots Landing and Beverly Hills, 90210, where she played the mother of Tiffani Thiessen’s iconic character Valerie Malone.

In recent years, Phillips has been lying low and enjoying the quiet life in Los Angeles. Luckily, that means she can spend lots of time with her famous daughter, Chynna Phillips, 57. Chynna earned plenty of acclaim of her own as a member of pop trio Wilson Phillips, known for the beloved hit “Hold On.”

On Thursday, Chynna posted a sweet photo alongside her mom, showing the duo snuggled up alongside their pup, who delivered sweet kisses to Michelle’s face.

“It’s a Dog day afternoon with my beautiful mama,” Chynna captioned the photo, while adding a variety of fun hashtags including “mother daughter time.”

Michelle Didn’t Want Chynna To Go Into the Entertainment Business

Back in 2021, Michelle explained that she wasn’t thrilled about the idea of her daughter getting into the music and acting business. However, she knew her daughter was extremely talented and ultimately couldn’t control her decision once she became an adult.

“I did try and discourage her from getting involved in the record business. I didn’t let her work until she was 18,” Phillips told Closer. “By then, she was mature enough to know how to pick an acting part and how to manage her singing career. I certainly wasn’t going to become her manager. I think she’s done a really great job.”

Chynna Reunited With Her Half-Sister, Mackenzie Phillips

Chynna Phillips reunited with her half-sister, Mackenzie Phillips, this summer after the two attended the memorial for Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson. Chynna’s former Wilson Phillips bandmate, Carnie Wilson, is the daughter of the legendary musician.

In a photo carousel posted to her Instagram, Chynna called the memorial “staggeringly beautiful,” and said it was “wonderful to spend time with good friends and loved ones.” She shared a sweet selfie of herself and Mackenzie sitting at a table at the memorial.
