One of Detroit’s most famous musicians has taken to social media to blast President Donald Trump.

In a message posted to Instagram, Jack White slammed the president for his comments in the wake of the apparent murder of famed director Rob Reiner and his wife in California.

In part, Trump blamed the deaths on Trump Derangement Syndrome.” Reiner was an outspoken critic of Trump and he appeared on major networks like MSNBC and CNN to voice his concerns earlier this year.

White, who rose to fame as a member of the White Stripes, is also an avid Detroit sports fan who rocked Ford Field alongside Eminem during halftime of the Lions-Packers game on Thanksgiving. He was one of countless pundits, commentators, politicians and celebrities to rip the president’s comments on Truth Social on Monday.

“Trump you disgusting, vile, egomaniac loser, child,” White wrote on Instagram, reposting a screenshot of Trump’s Truth Social post.

“Neither he nor any one of his followers can defend this gross, horrible insult to a beautiful artist who gave the world so much. To use someone’s tragic death to promote your own vanity and fascist authoritarian agenda is a corrupt and narcissistic sin. Shame on you trump and anyone who defends this.”

Reiner’s son Nick has been arrested in connection to the stabbing deaths. Reiner rose to prominence as an actor portraying Mike “Meathead” Stivic on the CBS sitcom All in the Family and continued to act throughout his career.

But he is now considered a legendary filmmaker in Hollywood for directing timeless films like “The Princess Bride,” “When Harry Met Sally…,” “Stand By Me,” A Few Good Men” and “Misery.”

White returned his focus back to Reiner at the end of his post.

“God bless you Rob Reiner and thank you for what you gave the world. I never even met you and I still stand by you,” he wrote.
