‘New Girl’ Zooey Deschanel Honors Costar Rob Reiner in Emotional Post | E! News
Zoe Des Chanel is remembering her on-screen father, Rob Reiner. Zoe taking to Instagram December 15th in tribute to beloved Hollywood director and actor Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle, who died December 14th. My heart is broken, Zoe writes, adding, Rob Reiner was the absolute warmest, funniest, most generous of spirits. A truly good human being, an incredible artist, and such a playful and fun collaborator. I cherished the time we spent working together and the many films he made that have shaped who I am. Zoe also remembering Rob’s wife Michelle who also died alongside her husband writing Rob and his lovely wife Michelle were always so kind and it brought me so much joy anytime I was lucky enough to see them. I am absolutely devastated sending so much love to their family and friends. Rob starred as Zoe’s father in New Girl alongside Jamie Lee Curtis who played Zoe’s mother. Rob Reiner was 78 years old. After Rob Reiner’s death, Zooey Deschanel paid tribute to the late director, who played her dad on New Girl. “My heart is broken,” she wrote Dec. 15 on Instagram. “Rob Reiner was the absolute warmest, funniest, most generous of spirits. A truly good human being. An incredible artist and such a playful and fun collaborator. I cherish the time we spent working together and the many films he made that have shaped who I am.” Rob and his wife Michele Reiner were found stabbed in their Los Angeles home Dec. 14. Their son Nick Reiner was “responsible” for their deaths, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a Dec. 15 press release.
