Fans on the internet often like to joke that Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift are always just one person away from meeting each other. Ari and Taylor aren’t friends because Scooter Braun managed Ari for many years, but nonetheless, there is no bad blood between them and they are peers who respect each other. Believe it or not, they actually used to be good friends, but that was before Scooter got involved and took Taylor’s master recordings. It’s been more than a decade since anyone saw them together, and the internet often jokes that they’re always separated by one person. Taylor recreated the Holding Space joke with Cynthia Arivo at the Grammys where Ariana wasn’t present. Over the past year, Ariana has met several of Taylor’s close friends like Jack Antonoff, Sabrina Carpenter, Stevie Nicks, and Selena Gomez.
