Hollywood is mourning Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Reiner, after the couple’s tragic deaths.

    After news broke Sunday that the couple had been fatally stabbed in their Brentwood, Calif., home, Ben Stiller wrote about the “huge loss” via X.

    “Rob Reiner was one of my favorite directors. He made some of the most formative movies for my generation,” the actor, 60, tweeted, going on to call the late director a “kind caring person who was really, really funny.”

    Jamie Lee Curtis also spoke out, telling Variety she and husband Christopher Guest were “numb and sad and shocked about the violent, tragic deaths of [their] dear friends.”

    “Our ONLY focus and care right now is for their children and immediate families and we will offer all support possible to help them,” the “Freaky Friday” star added. “We have lost great friends. Please give us time to grieve.”

    Jerry O’Connell, for his part, posted a photo of himself and Rob on the “Stand By Me” set, gushing, “Love you, Rob. Sincerely.”

    “The Princess Bride” star Cary Elwes, similarly, shared a throwback shot from filming the 1987 movie since he had “no words.”

    He worked with Rob again on “Being Charlie,” a movie Nick co-wrote as a semi-autobiographical project.

    Nick Robinson, who played the 2015 movie’s titular character, honored Rob via Instagram Stories as “an incredible artist with such a capacity for empathy and warmth.”

    As for Kathy Bates, the “absolutely devastated” actress discussed the tragedy with NBC News, decades after working with Rob on “Misery.”

    She wrote, “I loved Rob. He was brilliant and kind, a man who made films of every genre to challenge himself as an artist. He also fought courageously for his political beliefs. He changed the course of my life.

    “Michelle was a gifted photographer,” Bates added. “She shot my beautiful photos for the ‘Misery’ campaign. My heart breaks for them both. My thoughts are with their family.”

    Elijah Wood and John Cusack tweeted, respectively, about being “horrified” and “shocked” over the news.

    Comedian Eric Idle recalled their final chat, writing, “Rob Reiner was a lovely man. I spoke to him last night for over an hour. I always enjoyed his company. I met him at his Dad’s in 1975. He was telling me about [filming] at Stonehenge and his thoughts for the future. This is so awful. I shall miss him. A clever, talented and very thoughtful man.So awful.”

    Additionally, Josh Gad labeled Rob “simply a beautiful person” via Instagram, while Billy Baldwin referred to the late Emmy winner as “a towering figure in [the entertainment] industry” in a comment.

    Cheryl Hines, for her part, told her Instagram followers, “The loss of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner is devastating. I met them 31 years ago when I began working for them as an assistant and instantly loved their generosity, humor and unwavering inspiration.”

    Rob’s “Hollywood” co-star Mira Sorvino tweeted about the “absolute shock” she felt over the deaths — which didn’t “seem possible.”

    She wrote, “Rob Reiner was a legend & a kind, brilliant man, a wonderful actor to work opposite on Hollywood, an iconic director. His wife Michele was a lovely generous person — I wish I had been able to get to know her better.

    “The world has lost 2 tremendous humans,” she concluded. “He was so funny & intelligent — we had a great time shooting what could have been awkward scenes but his wit & warmth made all that go away. Talking w/him on & off the set was a joy. “

    “Heartbroken” Barack Obama also mourned Rob via social media, with California governor Gavin Newsom reflecting on how the actor “made California a better place through his good works.”

    Zooey Deschanel expressed her own heartbreak after learning of her “New Girl” co-star’s passing.

    “My heart is broken. Rob Reiner was the absolute warmest, funniest, most generous of spirits,” she wrote on Instagram Monday. “A truly good human being. An incredible artist and such a playful and fun collaborator. I cherish the time we spent working together and the many films he made that have shaped who I am.”

    Deschanel added that Rob and Michele were “always so kind” and that she is “absolutely devastated.”

    Rob and Michele reportedly had their throats slit by a family member during a heated argument, with their bodies found by daughter Romy.

    The late couple’s son Nick, who has been vocal about years-long drug addiction struggles, was arrested on murder charges.

    Rob and Michele are also survived by son Jake, as well as the “All in the Family” alum’s eldest daughter, Tracy, from a previous marriage.
