Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been spotted out riding in Windsor on the same day that the rest of his family headed to Buckingham Palace to enjoy their traditional pre-Christmas lunch.
The disgraced royal, who will also not be joining his relatives at Sandringham on Christmas Day, struck a sombre figure as he rode in Windsor Great Park in the pouring rain.
Andrew recently made a rare public outing to attend the Christening of his granddaughter, Athena Mapelli Mozzi, at St James’s Chapel.
Dressed in a waterproof coat and riding hat, Andrew was joined by a member of staff on another horse as they took a gentle ride around the grounds.
His appearance comes as members of the Royal Family, including his two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, were pictured arriving at Buckingham Palace for the traditional celebration.
They joined the likes of the Prince and Princess of Wales, their young children and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh for the dinner. The annual event is held so that extended members of the Royal Family who do not travel to Sandringham can mark the festive period with the whole family.
The new photographs also come after reports emerged of where he will soon call home in Norfolk.
It is thought that the disgraced royal will move to Marsh Farm near the village of Wolferton once much-needed repairs have been completed.
It has been widely reported that the empty property will become Andrew’s new home after new ‘no-fly’ regulations were extended to cover the property. Despite this, the palace has stated that it will not disclose the name of his new home, as the King’s brother is a “private citizen” and Sandringham is a “private estate”.
Andrew does not have to vacate his current Royal Lodge home until October 2026, but it has been reported that progress with the move is being made as some of his items are now reportedly in storage.
