In 1897 Duchess Marie of Mecklenburg-Strelitz was taken of advantage of and impregnated at age of 19 by Male Servant Heinrich Hecht who came to turn off the Gaslights in her and her sisters rooms.

The Baby was put under the protection of her Grandmother Augusta and adopted out.
