Kristin Cabot, the woman at the center of the Coldplay cheating scandal, has broken her silence for the first time, four months after being caught with her boss, Andy Byron.
“I made a bad decision and had a couple of High Noons and danced and acted inappropriately with my boss,” Cabot told The New York Times on Thursday, December 18. “I took accountability, and I gave up my career for that. That’s the price I chose to pay. I want my kids to know that you can make mistakes, and you can really screw up. But you don’t have to be threatened to be killed for them.”
According to Cabot, she was recently separated from her husband, Andrew Cabot, at the time of the concert. She claimed she bonded with the Astronomer CEO in the spring as he was “going through the same thing.”

“I was so embarrassed and so horrified,” she told the outlet. “I’m the head of H.R. and he’s the C.E.O. It’s, like, so cliché and so bad. We both just sat there with our heads in our hands, like, ‘What just happened?’”
The couple went viral after being caught canoodling on the kiss cam at a Coldplay concert in Boston.
“Whoa, look at these two. All right, come on. You’re OK,” Chris Martin said into the mic as Byron quickly ducked out of view of the camera, and Cabot shielded her face in embarrassment. “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy. I’m not quite sure what to do. I hope we didn’t do something bad.”

Both Cabot and Byron ultimately left their positions at Astronomer.
“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met,” the company said in a statement following the incident. “Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted.”
