Kumail Nanjiani has been given his own Hobama; he should feel so lucky. For those who have touched grass lately, Hobama is a meme-y ship of One Direction’s Harry Styles and the 44th president, Barack Obama, that has taken on a life of its own beginning in 2014. Now ten years later, the Fallout actor is denying a new rumor about his personal life, his Kubama if you will. “There was a rumor going around about me last year that I was having an affair with Michelle Obama,” Nanjiani told Caleb Hearon on the So True podcast. “Our mutual friend pulled Emily [Gordon] aside and was like ‘Hey so I heard that Kumail and Michelle Obama are like doing it,’ She wasn’t even upset.” If your partner is famous enough to get his own chaotic rumor that he’s sleeping with a former First Lady, it’s hard to get mad about it, especially when the last mainstream affair rumor with the Obamas was that Barack was dating Jennifer Aniston. They were on a break!
“Multiple people brought it up to me,” Nanjiani explained. “I’ve never met Michelle Obama.” Now that the rumor has been laid to rest, can we at least get some fan edits for a final bow?
