A royal tradition: The Princess of Wales greets well-wishers outside church on Christmas Day

It was a family affair for King Charles III and Queen Camilla as they led the royal arrivals for the annual Christmas Day church service on the Sandringham estate. The House of Windsor turned out in force as they spent time greeting well-wishers along the woodland walk between the Norfolk royal residence and St Mary Magdalene Church.
It was the younger royals who charmed the crowds, with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis all spending time speaking to royal fans who had waited in the cold to see the Wales family. Mia and Lena Tindall, daughters of Mike and Zara, were also in attendance and were seen chatting to Charlotte on their way out of church.
Also present were the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their children, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex, as were Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence.
Among the notable absentees was Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly the Duke of York, who was left out in the cold. Peter Phillips, Princess Anne’s son, also gave the family gathering a miss – perhaps choosing to spend the day privately with his fiancée Harriet Sperling, and his daughters, Savannah and Isla.
