Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would have to adjust to a new normal if they have their royal titles taken away from them — but that may not bother the Duke of Sussex in the least.
“Harry doesn’t care about the trappings anymore. He’s done with it,” a source told journalist Rob Shuter for his Naughty But Nice Substack post published Tuesday, December 30.
Earlier this month, the father of two, 41, tried to go incognito at a polo match in Aspen, Colorado, by being introduced as “Harry Wales,” which is the name he used while serving in the British military.
“He looked genuinely happy, like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders,” a source told Shuter.

As Examiner previously reported, many have speculated that Prince William — who has largely been estranged from his brother since the Spare author stepped down from his senior royal duties and moved to California — might take away the Sussexes’ titles when he becomes king.
However, a source told Shuter that “taking the titles away would make William look petty.”
While the source feels that the “Sussex brand is now worthless,” it hasn’t stopped Harry’s wife, 44, from being called the Duchess of Sussex.

When the former actress was profiled for the December/January cover of Harper’s Bazaar, it was revealed in the article that Meghan was announced by her title before meeting with the publication’s reporter.
“Meghan thrives on the royal recognition — it’s everything to her,” an insider told the Naughty But Nice Substack.
“Meghan’s still chasing the shine that’s long gone,” said a close friend. But as for Harry, the friend added, “He’s finally free.”
