“I Remember That Messy Timeline Like It Was Yesterday”: People Are Raising Their Eyebrows Over Hailey Bieber’s Post About Spending “10 New Years” With Justin Bieber

Earlier this week, Hailey Bieber shared a now-viral post about celebrating the new year with her husband, Justin Bieber.

Posting a throwback photo of the pair kissing, Hailey wrote, “10 New Years together and counting,” alongside a middle finger emoji and a heart.

Hailey’s post immediately gained attention online given the infamously messy early timeline of her and Justin’s relationship.

As I’m sure you’re aware, Justin dated Selena Gomez on and off for years before he and Hailey eventually tied the knot in 2018. Notably, in 2016, while he and Selena were broken up, Justin shared a photo of himself and Hailey kissing on New Year’s — the same pic that Hailey just reshared.

Barely a month later, however, Justin stated in an interview that he didn’t want to “rush into” anything with Hailey. Not long after, the pair parted ways.

In 2017, Justin and Selena rekindled their romance — though they ended up splitting for the last time in March 2018. And just months later, he and Hailey got back together, swiftly getting engaged and then married.

So, while it’s entirely possible that Justin and Hailey have, in fact, spent 10 new years together, loads of fans couldn’t help but raise their eyebrows over her post. “10, really? The timeline is a bit blurry,” one person wrote on Reddit, while another user said, “Selena and Justin 2017 erasure.”

“The way she always tries to rewrite history is hilarious,” one user wrote, while another added, “the middle finger gave me second-hand embarrassment.”

At the same time, one person pointed out, “I’m thinking Hailey means 10 New Years but not in consecutive order.” Another user echoed, “I feel like she’s said 10 new years on purpose – like they’ve actually had 10 NYE together but not 10 years continuous?”
